Quick answer

Start with a small cyan or green cross, then leave it alone long enough to judge it.

The safest ranked baseline is a small cross with light outlines and no movement or firing error. It gives clear head level reference without covering the target. A code does not create aim, but a clean one removes one source of visual noise.

A stable starting point

The best VALORANT crosshair is visible, compact and forgettable

Your crosshair should make pre aim easier, not become another thing to manage. A small cyan or green cross works for most players because it stays visible on varied surfaces, gives a reliable reference around head level and does not block long range targets.

ColorUse clear contrast

Cyan and green are strong starting points. White can work if it remains visible for your eyes.

ShapeKeep a small cross

It gives more reference than a dot while remaining clean around the head.

FeedbackKeep it stable

Turn errors off unless you are deliberately learning when to stop before the shot.

Do not chase someone else's comfort. A pro code is a useful test, not proof that it is the right crosshair for your monitor, vision or playstyle.

Use one of these as a starting point, not as a magic fix. Import it, run the Range and one real match, then change only the single part that creates a repeatable problem.

How to import a VALORANT crosshair code

Riot introduced crosshair import and export through auto generated codes in Patch 4.05. The code keeps testing quick, so you can compare a useful baseline without rebuilding every setting manually.

Open Settings and choose Crosshair

Go to the Crosshair tab in the VALORANT client and find Crosshair Profile.

Use the import icon

Choose the import icon beside the profile controls, then paste the full code.

Save it as a test profile

Keep your familiar crosshair available. Test the new one before deciding it belongs in Ranked.

Choose by a real problem

Small cross, dot or custom color?

A small cross is the sensible default because it shows both center and shape. A dot can feel precise when your crosshair placement is already stable, but it gives less reference while learning. Riot also supports custom color entry, so a color that vanishes for you does not need to stay the default.

Small crossBest starting choice

Use it for a compact head level reference that remains easy to read during movement.

DotTest it after basics

It is clean but unforgiving. Use it only if you still see it clearly in busy rounds.

Custom colorFix a visibility issue

Change the color because it disappears on maps, not because the last game went badly.

Give the code a fair test

Test a new crosshair before you take it into Ranked

Do not judge a crosshair from a menu screenshot or one lucky Deathmatch. It has to stay readable when you clear a close corner, hold a long line and take a first shot through ability clutter.

Check head coverage in the Range

At close and long distances, make sure the crosshair does not hide the target you want to hit.

Play one moving mode

Use a short Deathmatch or warmup to test visibility against real movement and varied walls.

Keep it for several matches

Only change it after a repeatable issue. A single bad game is not evidence that the code failed.

Keep the setup from becoming noise

Common VALORANT crosshair mistakes

MistakeChanging after every loss

You lose the feedback needed to learn whether the problem was aim, movement or a rushed decision.

MistakeUsing a huge shape

A large cross can hide heads at range and makes small corrections harder to read.

MistakeIgnoring placement

A clean code cannot rescue a crosshair that starts at the floor when the duel begins.

Policy note: Riot's Terms prohibit sharing, selling or transferring accounts. A better crosshair does not change ownership risk or platform rules.
FAQ

VALORANT crosshair codes FAQ

What is the best VALORANT crosshair code in 2026?

The best all round starting point is a small cyan or green cross with a light outline, no movement error and no firing error. It stays visible without covering the target.

How do you import a VALORANT crosshair code?

Open Settings, choose Crosshair, use the import icon beside Crosshair Profile, paste the full code and save it. Riot introduced code import and export in Patch 4.05.

Should beginners use a dot crosshair in VALORANT?

A dot can work, but a small cross is usually easier for beginners because it gives more visual reference for head level and small corrections.

What VALORANT crosshair color is best?

Cyan, green and white are reliable starting colors because they remain visible across many maps. Use the color that stays clearest for your eyes during real rounds.

Do VALORANT crosshair codes improve aim?

A readable crosshair can improve comfort and visibility, but it does not replace crosshair placement, movement discipline, sensitivity control or practice.

Should movement and firing error be on?

Most players use a stable crosshair with movement and firing error off because it keeps the visual reference consistent. Try error indicators only if they help you learn when to stop before shooting.

How many VALORANT crosshair profiles can you save?

Riot increased the available crosshair profiles to 15 in Patch 5.04. Keep a main profile and only a few purposeful alternatives rather than changing after every bad game.

How often should you change your VALORANT crosshair?

Keep one clean crosshair long enough to judge it through real matches. Change one setting at a time only when you can name a repeatable visibility or comfort problem.
