Quick answer

Clash is strongest when her shield controls a lane and a defender owns the follow-up angle.

Anchor CCE Shield MK2 on a route attackers must use, remote-slow them as they commit, then take the crossfire from a safe second position. A shield that blocks your own rotation or has no teammate watching it is just expensive furniture.

01 / Ranked verdict

Is Clash worth picking in 2026?

Clash is a control operator, not a player who should permanently stand in a doorway. Ubisoft lists her defender specialties as Intel and Crowd Control. Her current CCE Shield MK2 can be set on the ground to block a route; while it is anchored, Clash can move freely and remotely slow attackers around the shield. That turns her into an operator who can create a delay point and then play the actual fight from another angle.

Pick Clash on a site with one important doorway, plant-side corridor or repeatable choke that your team can cover. She is especially valuable when the defense wants to buy seconds without giving up all freedom. Avoid the pick if the team already lacks wall denial, projectile denial or basic site setup, or if nobody can watch the lane that the shield is supposed to control.

Pick her forA real choke

The best lane is one attackers must respect, rather than a random doorway they can walk around.

Pick her forCrossfire teams

Remote slow buys the moment a teammate needs to swing, rotate or deny a plant.

Do not pick forSolo shield holding

A shield without an angle, call or escape route becomes easy to isolate and clear.

02 / Loadout

Best Clash loadout: P-10C, SPSMG9, Super Shorty and gadgets

Clash currently has the P-10C handgun, SPSMG9 machine pistol and Super Shorty shotgun, plus Barbed Wire and Impact Grenade. Select the loadout based on the job after your shield is placed. If you expect to take a normal defender gunfight after rotating away from the CCE Shield, use the option you can control reliably. If your job is to prepare a close site, build the setup around that geometry.

P-10C versus SPSMG9 versus Super Shorty

P-10C is the stable all-round answer for most players and maps. SPSMG9 rewards a player who can use a brief, controlled follow-up after the remote slow forces an attacker to commit. Super Shorty is not a default damage upgrade; it is a site-planning tool for a tight route where you deliberately control the distance and have teammates to cover the wider lines.

03 / CCE Shield MK2

How to use the reworked CCE Shield MK2

The central decision is simple: carry the shield when its body and free look protect your immediate information play; anchor it when the lane matters more than your physical presence. Ubisoft’s current operator profile states that the shield expands and collapses situationally while carried and that Clash can free look. The Operation Daybreak rework adds the anchored mode, allowing the shield to block a way while Clash moves freely and remotely tasers and slows adversaries around it.

CCE Shield MK2 decision boardChoose the useful mode
Carry itGather info

Use the shield to check a close lane, stall a safe doorway and call the exact attacker count.

Anchor itOwn a choke

Place it where crossing is expensive and a defender can punish the slowed attacker.

Remote slowCreate a swing

Slow is the trigger for a teammate angle, a rotation or a plant denial, not a reason to stare at the shield.

RepositionKeep agency

Move to the follow-up line. Your body should be hard to predict while the shield remains the pressure point.

A good shield changes attacker pathing and timing. A great shield changes them while a defender is already ready to punish the forced decision.

Before anchoring, state three things in voice: which lane it owns, who can watch it, and where you will play next. This prevents the most common Clash error: the whole team assumes someone else will cover the shield, while attackers simply clear the adjacent angle or bypass it.

04 / Shield placement

Where to anchor Clash’s shield in Ranked

A good placement has a purpose beyond visual obstruction. It should make an attacker cross a slow zone, reveal their commitment, or force them into a defender-held line. The shield belongs on the attacker’s preferred route, not on a random doorway that divides your own team.

01Plant-side lane

Place the shield on the approach that leads to the common plant spot, with a defender able to swing or deny utility when the slow begins.

02Single-door choke

Use it where one doorway connects two important rooms and attackers cannot simply rotate through an equally safe parallel route.

03Protected fallback

Anchor it to buy your team a retreat, but leave the defender rotate open and avoid trapping an anchor behind your own shield.

Doorway plus wide teammate angle

The ideal setup lets an attacker choose between slowing through the shield lane or exposing themselves to the teammate holding the side.

Plant lane plus denial

Pair the shield lane with someone who can react to a late plant. The delay matters only if it changes the final execute.

Do not block rotations

Defenders still need to retake the room. Never create a bottleneck that your own teammates must fight through under pressure.

Do not hide attackers

A shield can remove sight lines. If it lets attackers cross unseen without a defender watching, move it or play another operator.

05 / Round plan

The Clash round plan: early info, mid-round delay, late crossfire

Clash becomes more consistent when she has a round plan instead of looking for a permanent shield standoff. In the early round, confirm where the attack is committed. In the mid round, anchor the shield on the route that will cost them the most time and move to the angle that benefits from a remote slow. In the late round, use the shield to make the final plant or entry uncomfortable while preserving a defender who can still take the gunfight.

Early: collect only useful information

Use the carried shield to safely identify pressure, then call whether the attackers are committed or simply probing.

Mid: lock the meaningful lane

Anchor when you know which choke matters. A premature placement can be bypassed or leave the real execute route open.

Late: slow into a crossfire

Remote slow should be paired with a pre-called swing, plant denial or a teammate rotating to cover the route.

Always: keep a retreat route

Do not play your follow-up angle so deep that a lost fight removes both you and the shield’s entire value.

06 / Retakes and late round

Use Clash’s shield to make retakes and plant denial easier

An anchored shield is not only a setup tool. In the late round it can shape the retake by holding a route that attackers want to use for post-plant. If attackers have already committed to a site, anchor the shield where it either limits their escape line or forces a slowed attacker to reveal themselves before they can cover the defuser. Then take a different line with a teammate rather than trying to duel through your own utility.

Clash should not abandon the objective for a distant roam after the shield is down. The rework gives her freedom, but the best reposition is usually a short one: a side angle, an adjacent room or a crossfire that turns the remote slow into a traded fight. Call the exact status of the shield so teammates know whether the attacker is slowed, bypassing it, or already swinging another lane.

07 / Team composition

Best defenders to pair with Clash

SmokeLayer the final delay

Gas plus a shield-controlled route makes a plant lane take longer and gives the defense clearer timing information.

MelusiStack crowd control

Slow effects make a choke more demanding, but only if the team has an angle ready to punish the forced movement.

LesionAdd route information

GU pressure helps confirm which lane an attacker is using and makes a slowed push harder to complete cleanly.

Wamai or JagerProtect the setup

Projectile denial helps preserve the utility around a key lane instead of letting attackers clear everything safely.

MaestroCall and deny

Extra information lets Clash move away from the shield with more confidence and supports a late-round denial plan.

AzamiShape the angles

Barriers can make the shield lane more predictable and let defenders build a safer, narrower crossfire.

08 / Counterplay

What counters Clash, and the mistakes to avoid

Attackers beat Clash by refusing the obvious lane, creating a crossfire, applying vertical or explosive pressure, or clearing the player who is supposed to defend the shield. When she is carrying her shield, she also needs to respect operators who can punish that state directly: Ubisoft notes that Sledge can knock shield operators to the ground with one hammer hit. The answer is not to challenge every close attacker. It is to keep distance, retain a teammate angle and know when to anchor or leave.

Do not anchor without cover

If no teammate can watch the shield lane, attackers can clear or bypass it without being punished.

Do not play one predictable angle

After deploying, change where you are standing. The shield should reveal the attacker while you stay difficult to prefire.

Do not block your own retake

Check every defender rotation before placing the shield, especially on a small site with a late plant plan.

Do not force a close shield duel

Back up from direct counterplay, call for help, or anchor the shield where the team can use its slow from safety.

09 / FAQ

R6 Clash guide FAQ

Is Clash good in R6 in 2026?

Clash is a strong information and crowd-control defender when the team can cover the lane her shield controls. Her reworked CCE Shield MK2 is most valuable when it blocks a meaningful route, slows attackers remotely and preserves a defender crossfire.

What is the best Clash loadout in 2026?

P-10C with Impact Grenades is the most forgiving all-round Clash setup. SPSMG9 with Impacts is the higher-ceiling option for players who can control short bursts, while Super Shorty with Barbed Wire is a site-setup choice for a specific close hold.

How does CCE Shield MK2 work?

CCE Shield MK2 can be carried with a situationally expanding shield and free look, or anchored on the ground to block a route. Once anchored, Clash can move away and remotely taser and slow adversaries around it.

Can Clash leave her shield on the ground?

Yes. The reworked CCE Shield MK2 can be set down to block a route, then remotely slow nearby adversaries while Clash is free to reposition, play another angle or support a teammate.

Should Clash use P-10C, SPSMG9 or Super Shorty?

Use P-10C for the most stable general-purpose gunfight, SPSMG9 when you are comfortable with controlled bursts, and Super Shorty when the site plan genuinely needs close-range control and a rotation tool.

Should Clash take Barbed Wire or Impact Grenades?

Impact Grenades are the flexible default because they open rotations and escape routes. Barbed Wire is valuable when it stacks with an anchored shield to make one plant lane or doorway especially slow and awkward to cross.

Where should Clash anchor her shield?

Anchor it on a high-value doorway, plant-side lane or choke that a teammate can watch. Do not place it where it blocks a defender rotation, hides an attacker from the team or can simply be bypassed without costing the attack time.

What counters Clash?

Attackers counter Clash with coordinated crossfires, explosives, vertical pressure and by going around an unsupported shield. When Clash is carrying her shield, Sledge can also knock a shield operator to the ground with one hammer hit.

Can Clash roam after deploying her shield?

Yes. Deploying the CCE Shield MK2 frees Clash to roam or reposition while she remotely slows attackers near the shield. She should still stay close enough that the shield creates a real crossfire or information advantage for the defense.
