R6 Ying Guide 2026: Best Candela Executes

Turn Candelas into a clean timing window, not a noisy solo play. This guide covers the current Ying loadout, entry calls, plant setups and the decisions that make every flash useful.

Quick answer

Ying is strongest when the Candela has a named room, a countdown and a teammate ready to use it.

Drone first. Then call the defender position, the Candela route and who enters. A flash that opens one controlled fight is more valuable than a blind throw that lets defenders simply move away.

01 / Verdict

Pick Ying to make one contested entry predictable.

Ying is a front-line, map-control attacker. Her Candela creates a burst of flash pressure that can be thrown or anchored, while the current official profile lists the T-95 LSW, SIX12, Q-929, Reaper MK2, Smoke Grenades and Hard Breach Charge. The important decision is not whether the gadget is loud; it is whether the team can use the next three seconds.

Best use case

A known defender position blocks the route to site and your squad can swing, cross or plant as one short action.

Bad use case

The room is undroned, the flank is open and no player is waiting to take the newly created space.

What Ying adds

A forced timing window that can help the team cross an angle, take a close fight or start a protected plant.

What she does not add

Guaranteed site control. Defenders can reposition, play another elevation or challenge while attackers are focused on the flash.

02 / Loadout

Start with the gunfight you expect after the flashes.

Use a simple default, then change it only when the site plan clearly needs another tool. A loadout should support the space after the Candela has gone off, not just the initial throw.

ChoiceBest defaultWhen to switch
PrimaryT-95 LSW for the normal Ranked plan.Choose SIX12 only for a deliberate, close-range and site-specific plan.
Secondary gadgetSmoke Grenades for crossing, plant pressure or a late execute.Take Hard Breach Charge when one more hatch or soft wall changes the route.
Secondary weaponChoose the sidearm you can draw cleanly after the entry.Do not make the pistol choice the center of the round plan.
Default recommendation: T-95 LSW plus Smoke Grenades. It gives Ying a reliable primary for the post-flash fight and a second timing tool when the team needs to cross or plant.
03 / Gadget timing

Use a Candela as a countdown, not an announcement.

The Candela releases a cluster of flashes and can be used as a thrown device or anchored on a surface. Before you deploy it, agree on one result: take a doorway, force a defender off a close angle, cross into plant cover or trigger a coordinated swing. That turns the gadget into a plan instead of a distraction.

  1. Drone the target room. Name the defender position, any close protection and the route your team will use.
  2. Set the trade and flank jobs. One player follows the flash, one covers the first fight and someone owns the route behind the execute.
  3. Call the timer out loud. A short call such as “flash in three, swing on one” gives teammates a usable cue.
  4. Take one piece of space. Cross, clear or plant immediately. Do not stay outside waiting for a perfect second Candela.
04 / Route selection

Choose the shortest route to a defender problem.

There is no universal “best Ying spot.” The best route is the one that flashes the defender who currently denies the next action. On every map, build the execute backwards from the objective: where does the planter need cover, which doorway blocks the entry and which defender position makes that doorway unsafe?

Doorway pop

Use a thrown Candela when a close defender holds the immediate entrance. The follow player must be close enough to enter on the same timing.

Anchored pressure

Anchor the device when the team needs a more deliberate route or when the surface gives a dependable direction into the defended area.

Cross-and-plant

Use the flash to cross one exposed line, then combine it with Smoke Grenades and cover for the planter rather than chasing every defender.

Split pressure

Flash one side only when a second attacker is ready to use the opposite angle. A split with no timing usually gives defenders isolated fights.

05 / Plant execute

A clean Ying execute has three jobs after the flash.

When the goal is the plant, do not turn the Candela into an invitation to hunt every defender. Use it to cross the exposed step, establish the plant location and cover the person interacting with the objective. If the team cannot name those jobs before the throw, slow down and drone again.

  1. Open the required route. Confirm the wall, hatch or doorway that makes the plant area reachable. This is where Hard Breach Charge can be worth more than Smoke.
  2. Flash the denial angle. Throw or anchor the Candela against the defender position that prevents the cross or first plant contact.
  3. Assign the plant and cover. One player plants, one watches the closest swing and one holds the most dangerous rotate or flank.
  4. Reset to post-plant angles. Once the case is down, stop overextending into blind rooms. Keep lines that make the defender retake costly.

For fundamentals that make the final phase easier, use the R6 post-plant guide and pair the plan with the hard breach guide when the site needs a more reliable opening.

06 / Counters

Respect the defender who is not standing in your flash line.

Ying is punished most often when attackers treat the flash as permanent control. Defenders can reposition before the execute, play behind hard cover, hold another elevation or use the noise to challenge from a different doorway. Your answer is information: drone, keep a flank watch and make the first entry tradeable.

Mistake: solo flash

Throwing from too far away gives defenders time to move. Stand close enough to take the route immediately or save the gadget.

Mistake: no target

“Flash site” is not a plan. Call the exact room or angle the Candela is meant to pressure.

Mistake: doubled gadget

Do not spend every flash before the first fight. Preserve one Candela or Smoke for the plant and post-plant transition.

Mistake: open flank

A successful entry still loses value if the attacking route behind it is free. Assign the flank role before the timer starts.

Ying pairs especially well with teammates who can convert the window into a clear action. The operator-combo guide helps turn that idea into a five-player lineup, while the site setup guide explains the defender structure you are trying to break.

07 / Solo queue

In solo queue, flash the room you are ready to take yourself.

Ying still works without a full stack, but the plan must become smaller. Drone one target room, choose one route and keep your gun ready for the post-flash duel. If a teammate follows, great; if not, you still have a practical next action instead of relying on five strangers to read the same play.

Solo queue rule: do not use the Candela just because you have it. Use it only when you can name your next position after the flash and the line that keeps the round from collapsing behind you.
08 / FAQ

R6 Ying guide FAQ

Is Ying good in R6 in 2026?

Ying is strong when a Candela gives her team a timed entry into a known defender position. She is much weaker when it is thrown before teammates are ready to take the space it creates.

What is the best Ying loadout in 2026?

T-95 LSW with Smoke Grenades is the flexible default for a planted-objective round. Hard Breach Charge is the better choice when the lineup needs one more way to open a hatch or soft wall.

How does Ying’s Candela work?

The Candela releases a cluster of blinding flashes and can be thrown like a grenade or anchored on a surface. It is strongest when the team has already droned the defender positions and can enter during the flash pressure.

Should Ying take Smoke Grenades or Hard Breach Charge?

Take Smoke Grenades for a crossing, plant or late-round denial line. Take Hard Breach Charge when opening an extra hatch or soft wall creates the entry your team is otherwise missing.

Should Ying use T-95 LSW or SIX12?

T-95 LSW is the standard choice for most Ranked rounds because it supports the gunfights after a Candela entry. SIX12 is a niche choice for a very close, site-specific plan.

When should Ying throw a Candela?

Throw the Candela after the team has named the room, defender position and entry player. A simple call such as flash in three, then swing gives the flashes a usable timing window.

What counters Ying?

Defenders can avoid the planned line, reposition before the execute, play behind hard cover or challenge from a different elevation. Ying should drone, keep a flank watch and avoid treating a Candela as guaranteed control.

Can Ying plant after a Candela?

Yes. A Candela can create the short timing window needed to cross or start a plant, but the team still needs cover, a clear call and someone ready to trade the planter.

Is Ying good for solo queue?

Ying can work in solo queue when the player drones first and uses the flashes to take the next room personally. Her value rises sharply when even one teammate is ready to swing, cover or hold the flank on the call.
