VALORANT Mobile System Requirements 2026
Android and iOS minimums, realistic RAM and storage targets, chipset tiers, 165 FPS device rules and the difference between China’s live build and unannounced global specs.
Use the China build as a reference—not as confirmed global requirements.
The current China version lists a low floor: roughly Android 5, 3 GB RAM and Snapdragon 430/450-class hardware, or iOS 12 with an A9-class device. That is enough to describe installation compatibility, not a stable competitive experience. For actual play, target 6–8 GB RAM, a recent midrange chip and 12–15 GB free space. Riot still has not published a global VALORANT Mobile specification sheet.
What is official—and what is still unconfirmed
The biggest problem with VALORANT Mobile requirement pages is not missing numbers. It is missing labels. Many articles copy China’s test or launch matrix, remove the regional context and present it as Riot’s future worldwide requirement sheet. That leap is not justified.
The playable product is 无畏契约:源能行动, the mainland China version of VALORANT Mobile, created by Riot Games with Tencent’s Photon Studio Group. Tencent’s official site provides the China download route. Apple’s China storefront provides the current iPhone and iPad compatibility, package size and version history. Riot’s global VALORANT channels have not published an equivalent worldwide store page or final minimum-spec chart.
Tencent operates the official game site, and the China App Store listing is active for iPhone and iPad.
The Android/iOS tiers describe the Chinese build around testing and launch. They are useful reference points, not global promises.
No official global Android/iOS matrix, worldwide Google Play listing or fixed international compatibility list exists yet.
VALORANT Mobile minimum specs: China build reference
These figures describe the lowest published China-build tier. Minimum means the device can install and start the supported build under the stated matrix. It does not guarantee a high graphics preset, a stable ranked-session frame rate or access to every high-refresh option.
| Requirement | Android minimum reference | iPhone / iPad minimum reference | How to read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Android 5China launch matrix | iOS / iPadOS 12.0+Still shown by Apple China | Future global builds may raise either floor. |
| Processor | Snapdragon 430/450 classHelio P23 / MT6763T or Kirin 710 references | Apple A9iPhone 6s generation | Launch summaries used Snapdragon 430; the earlier tier chart used 450. Treat 450 as safer. |
| Memory | 3 GB RAM | 2 GB RAMLaunch matrix reference | This is a launch floor, not our performance recommendation. |

Minimum, comfortable and competitive tiers
Buying or keeping a phone based only on the minimum line is a poor way to plan for a live-service tactical shooter. System updates, new maps, larger cosmetic assets, voice chat and background services all consume headroom. The three tiers below separate the published China references from a practical 2026 recommendation.
Install and test
Suitable only as the lowest compatibility check. Expect reduced settings and the greatest risk of frame-time spikes.
- Android 5 or iOS 12
- 3 GB Android / 2 GB iOS memory
- Snapdragon 430/450, Helio P23, Kirin 710 or A9
- At least 8–10 GB free
Comfortable baseline
The launch matrix’s middle tier is a much more sensible starting point for regular matches.
- Android 9+ or iOS 12+
- 6 GB Android / 3 GB iOS memory reference
- Snapdragon 480, Dimensity 720, Kirin 810 or A12 class
- iPhone XR generation or newer reference
Competitive headroom
A practical target for sustained play, not a promise that every high-FPS toggle will unlock.
- Current supported OS and security updates
- 8 GB Android RAM; modern iPhone/iPad
- Snapdragon 778G/7-series, Dimensity 1000-class, A15 or better
- 12–15 GB free plus healthy battery and cooling
The top tier is intentionally not called an official global requirement. It is a buying and preparation target derived from the China build’s competitive tier and the real needs of sustained mobile FPS play. A newer chip improves your margin, but model-specific optimization still decides which frame-rate settings appear.
How to check whether your phone is strong enough
Start with the exact model, not the marketing family. A Galaxy A-series, Redmi Note or iPhone name can cover several generations with different chips and memory. Search the manufacturer’s official specification page for the model number shown in your settings.
Four checks beat one benchmark score
A processor name alone cannot predict sustained performance. Confirm all four items, then leave headroom above the lowest line.
Record the model, Android version, RAM and free storage. If the chip is missing, use the manufacturer’s page for that exact regional model.
Record model name, software version and available capacity. Match the model to Apple’s technical specifications for its A-series chip.
Storage-backed memory can help background apps, but it is much slower than physical RAM and should not replace the real requirement.
Download size is not the same as installed size
Apple currently displays 3.7 GB for the China App Store package. That figure describes the store-delivered app package at the time Apple was checked. Installation can require temporary unpacking space, and the game can download maps, audio, cosmetics or patches after the initial store transfer.
The original China matrix reserved 8 GB on Android and 10 GB on iOS. Those figures are better read as launch-era free-space floors than permanent totals. For 2026, keeping 12–15 GB free before installation is a more resilient target. It reduces failed updates and gives the operating system room for caching.
Use 12–15 GB free as a practical buffer. The official Tencent package route and post-install resources can change between versions.
Apple lists a 3.7 GB app, while the launch reference reserved 10 GB. Keep extra capacity for unpacking, updates and system overhead.
Why a 165 Hz screen does not guarantee 165 FPS
VALORANT Mobile can expose different frame-rate modes by device. The China App Store’s official April 2026 version history confirms a 165 FPS high-frame-rate mode and names a specific first group of supported OnePlus, OPPO and iQOO devices. That is the key detail: the mode is whitelisted after testing.
Possible low-end floor. Responsive enough to start, weak for precise competitive tracking.
The sensible minimum target for regular tactical play and consistent input feedback.
Smoother motion if the device, display, game profile and thermal state all allow it.
Needs stronger hardware and an enabled device profile; panel refresh alone is not enough.
Officially rolled out to selected China-market models. Support is model-specific and can expand.
DEVICE APPROVAL REQUIREDThree separate limits must align: the display must refresh fast enough, the phone must render frames fast enough under sustained load, and Tencent must enable the option for that exact model. A powerful unlisted phone may therefore show fewer choices than a tested device with similar silicon.
RAM, heat and battery health matter after the first five minutes
A quick training-range test can hide the real limit. Ranked matches hold the CPU, GPU, display, radio and voice chat under load for much longer. As temperature rises, the phone can reduce clock speeds to protect itself. The result is thermal throttling: lower frame rates and less consistent frame times even though the device met the launch screen’s minimum check.
Do not charge aggressively under a thick case during long sessions. High battery temperature can reduce sustained performance.
Video editors, camera apps, browsers and screen recorders can compete for RAM and trigger reloads on low-memory devices.
A stable 60 or 90 FPS is usually more useful than a higher mode that collapses during utility-heavy fights.
High FPS cannot fix packet loss or unstable routing. Avoid congested Wi-Fi and background downloads.
An A9 or old Android device may pass the paper floor while an aged battery and heat make sustained play uncomfortable.
Nearly full storage can slow installs and leave no room for temporary patch files or cached resources.
Do not use fake global APK pages as a compatibility test
As of July 17, 2026, the official playable release is the mainland China version. There is no worldwide Google Play page that can automatically evaluate a European, North American or other international Android phone. That gap has created many unofficial download pages using Riot artwork and invented requirements.
The Tencent VALORANT Mobile domain is valm.qq.com. On iOS, the live game listing is in Apple’s mainland China storefront and names Shenzhen Tencent Tianyou Technology as provider.
A page offering a worldwide build, mod menu, unlimited currency or a pre-registration login download is not evidence of an official global release.
Requirements pages do not need your password, recovery code, MFA code or payment details. Leave immediately if a download guide requests them.

What changed in the 2026 requirements picture
The regional hardware tiers became a real build reference instead of only pre-release speculation.
Tencent listed an initial supported-device group, proving the highest frame-rate setting is controlled by model whitelisting.
The current store metadata was rechecked; no Riot global minimum-spec page was found.
Future Google Play and regional App Store pages should become the authority for international OS, storage and model compatibility.

VALORANT Mobile requirements FAQ
What are the official global VALORANT Mobile system requirements?
Riot has not published a global Android and iOS requirement sheet as of July 17, 2026. The figures in this guide come from the live China build, Tencent’s regional launch matrix and Apple’s current China listing, so they are references rather than global guarantees.
What is the minimum Android requirement?
The China build reference lists Android 5, 3 GB RAM and approximately Snapdragon 430/450, Helio P23 or Kirin 710-class hardware, with 8 GB free storage. Because published launch materials differ between Snapdragon 430 and 450, 450-class or better is the safer floor.
What is the minimum iPhone requirement?
Apple currently requires iOS 12.0 or later. The China launch matrix used an A9 chip, 2 GB RAM and 10 GB free space as the minimum reference, corresponding to the iPhone 6s generation.
How much storage does VALORANT Mobile need?
Apple currently shows a 3.7 GB store package. The launch references reserved 8 GB on Android and 10 GB on iOS. Because download size is not installed size, 12–15 GB free is a safer practical target.
Can an iPhone 6s run VALORANT Mobile?
It matches the A9 and iOS 12 launch-era floor, but should not be treated as a recommended competitive device. Battery condition, heat and limited memory can reduce sustained performance.
Is 3 GB RAM enough?
Three gigabytes is the Android minimum reference. Six gigabytes is a better everyday target, while 8 GB gives more headroom for long sessions, voice chat and future updates.
Can every 120 Hz, 144 Hz or 165 Hz phone unlock the highest FPS?
No. The display, chipset, cooling and Tencent’s device profile must all align. The official 165 FPS rollout used a specific supported-device list.
Is VALORANT Mobile on Google Play worldwide?
No official worldwide Google Play release exists as of July 17, 2026. Avoid sites presenting unofficial APKs as a released global version.
Is Riot Mobile the same as VALORANT Mobile?
No. Riot Mobile is the global companion app for Riot news, social features and account verification. VALORANT Mobile is the playable tactical shooter currently live through its China release.
Does VALORANT Mobile support iPad?
Apple’s China listing includes iPad and requires iPadOS 12.0 or later. Available graphics and high-refresh settings still depend on the specific iPad model and chip.
