Use the feature, data source and timing to judge a tool before it touches your Riot account or runs beside Vanguard.
A popular tracker is not automatically safe. Its behavior decides the risk.
Post-match stats, personal match history and learning tools can fit Riot’s published use cases when players opt in and the product follows the data rules. Avoid anything that reveals restricted live information, tells you what to do in real time, automates input, tampers with the game or asks for your Riot password.
What counts as a VALORANT third-party app?
The label covers far more than one tracker. Desktop overlays, stat websites, Discord bots, clip recorders, lineup libraries, store checkers, crosshair tools, hardware macros and scripts can all sit outside the official game. That does not make every tool equally risky.
A useful first filter is simple: does the tool help you reflect after the match, or does it change what you can do during the match? Riot’s published VALORANT policy accepts use cases such as opted-in player stats, personal match history and training insights. It rejects live information that immediately improves performance, restricted scouting and overlays that block part of the map.

Match history and coaching across games can be acceptable. A prompt such as go here now during the round is specifically the kind of immediate advantage Riot rejects.
Riot lists pre-match opponent scouting and identifying deliberately hidden players among unapproved uses.
Even a static overlay can fail policy when it blocks parts of the map or reduces information a normal player needs.
Run these seven checks on every tracker or overlay
Take two minutes before installation. A clean answer to every check is more useful than a random comment claiming that thousands of players use the app.
Can you identify the company, support page, privacy policy and update history?
Use the publisher’s official domain or verified store, not a mirror or repacked installer.
Riot Sign On redirects to Riot. A third-party password form is a stop signal.
Question admin access, browser cookies, session tokens or unrelated folder access.
Post-match review is different from hidden or tactical information during a live round.
Skip anything that aims, fires, moves, buys, controls recoil or reacts for you.
Recheck Riot’s policy after major app updates. Old community answers can expire.
If you cannot explain why the feature is allowed, do not test it on your main account.
Macros, recoil scripts and automated input are not normal trackers
Do not let a seller rename automation as a quality-of-life feature. Riot’s Community Pact defines scripting as third-party software or hardware taking automated actions or responding to game events on a player’s behalf. A mouse or keyboard feature can still create the same problem when it performs the sequence for you.

Treat logins and store checkers as a separate risk
A tool can be useless as a cheat and still be dangerous to your account. A fake tracker, Discord bot or store checker can collect credentials, browser data or session tokens without ever interacting with the match.
Riot Sign On is designed so third parties can request access without receiving your password. The flow redirects you to Riot, shows the access request and returns a token after approval. If an app asks you to type the Riot password into its own page, stop.
The browser stays on an official Riot domain while you sign in and approve access.
The app, bot or website directly asks for the Riot username and password.
The setup asks you to paste session data, browser storage or authentication tokens.
What to do if Vanguard flags an app
A launch block or warning is not a puzzle to bypass. Vanguard validates the machine and looks for tampering or unauthorized behavior around the running game. Remove uncertainty first, then use official support if the issue remains.
Exit the third-party tool and remove it through normal Windows settings.
Restart the PC, launch without the tool and note the exact VAN or error code.
Follow official error guidance or open a support request when the problem continues.
