VALORANT Summit Map Guide 2026
Learn the three-lane layout, wall-state calls, useful agent roles and simple plans that make Summit easier to play in Ranked.
Summit rewards teams that call the wall state before they commit.
It is a three-lane, two-site map with droppable walls that can change routes and sightlines mid-round. Learn A, B, Mid and the wall states first. Then build simple attack and defense plans around information, flank control and tradeable fights.
Build around the map pool, not one comfort pick.
Compare region, rank, agent access and inventory before queueing Summit.
Summit at a glance
Riot released Summit with Patch 13.00 on June 23, 2026. It is a 5v5 Spike map set in a Radiant training academy in the mountains of China. Riot describes the map as three lanes, two sites and massive droppable walls that reshape the battlefield mid-round.
Competitive and Deathmatch
Summit and Sunset entered both rotations. Fracture and Pearl left them in Patch 13.00.
Temporary benefits
The Summit Only queue lasted seven days. Reduced RR losses were announced for the first two weeks.

Those launch windows were temporary. Use the current client for live queue and rotation details.
Three lanes, two sites and changing routes
Summit starts with a familiar three-lane structure, but the wall system changes how confidently a team can rotate or commit. A route that was safe earlier in the round may expose a new angle after a wall drops.
The wall mechanic is not background decoration. It changes available space. The strongest habit is simple: say the wall state, name the next route and only then commit utility or players.
Summit callouts to learn first
Community names may keep evolving while Summit is new. Use short functional calls that teammates understand instantly. A call such as “one A Main, wall still up” is more useful than a creative name nobody recognizes.
| Callout group | Use it for | Simple wording |
|---|---|---|
| A side | Entries, plants, anchors and retakes around A. | A Main, A Site, A Link, A Back, A Wall. |
| B side | Pressure, post-plant positions and B retakes. | B Main, B Site, B Link, B Back, B Wall. |
| Mid | Splits, rotations, lurks and link pressure. | Mid, Mid Top, Mid Bottom, Mid Link. |
| Wall state | Explain whether a route or sightline changed. | Wall up, wall dropped, wall open. |
| Spawn routes | Late rotations and flank timing. | Attack Spawn, Defender Spawn, Spawn Link. |

Best agent roles for Summit
There is no reason to call the Summit meta solved after only a few weeks. What is clear is that changing routes reward structure, information and flank control more than unsupported solo fights.
Make routes playable
Smoke the next fight and the live wall state, not only the first choke at round start.
Clear changing angles
Use scans and flashes before entering space that a dropped wall may have changed.
Protect the late round
Watch flanks, anchor sites and punish teams that repeat low-information five-player hits.
Attack and defense plans that stay clear
Attack checklist
- Take lane control before sending five players through one choke.
- Call the wall state before using entry utility.
- Keep one tool for the second fight or post-plant.
- Trade through opened routes instead of dry peeking alone.
Defense checklist
- Do not panic rotate from the first noise cue.
- Keep information alive across A, Mid and B.
- Change Sentinel setups before they become predictable.
- Call the new route immediately after a wall changes.
Plant and retake basics
On a fresh map, simple post-plant habits win more rounds than rare lineups. Choose a plant your team can actually defend, keep one player aware of the flank and save enough utility to stop a grouped retake.
| Situation | Good habit | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Planting | Use a plant visible from your controlled space. | Planting deep with no post-plant plan. |
| Wall changed | Call the new route before repositioning. | Assuming every teammate noticed it. |
| Retake | Group utility, clear close angles and trade. | Entering one player at a time. |
| Post-plant | Split attention between Spike and flank timing. | Five players watching the same lane. |
Common Summit mistakes to avoid
Ignoring the wall
A changed route matters only if the team adjusts its spacing, utility and timing.
Five players, one choke
Without Mid information or flank control, a single stall can end the whole hit.
Overcomplicated calls
Short functional language beats uncertain names during the early map cycle.
VALORANT Summit map FAQ
When did Summit release in VALORANT?
Summit released with VALORANT Patch 13.00 on June 23, 2026, at the start of V26 Act 4.
Is Summit in the Competitive map rotation?
Yes. Riot added Summit to the Competitive and Deathmatch rotations in Patch 13.00 alongside Sunset. Fracture and Pearl left those rotations.
What is the main Summit map mechanic?
Summit uses massive droppable walls that can change routes and sightlines during a round. Teams should call each wall state before committing to a route.
How many sites and lanes does Summit have?
Riot describes Summit as a three-lane, two-site 5v5 Spike map.
What are the most important Summit callouts to learn first?
Start with functional calls for A, B, Mid, Links, Spawns and each wall state. Short calls such as wall up, wall dropped and wall open are more useful than uncertain community names.
Which agent roles are strong on Summit?
Controllers, Initiators and Sentinels provide the most reliable structure early in the map cycle. They control changing routes, clear unfamiliar angles and protect flanks while the meta develops.
Do the Summit launch RR and Summit Only bonuses still apply?
They were temporary launch benefits. Riot announced 50 percent reduced RR losses on Summit for the first two weeks and a Summit Only Swiftplay queue for seven days, not permanent rules.
