Mic Vocals is a real-time singing part for Fortnite Festival Main Stage. Instead of pressing controller or keyboard inputs on the standard Vocals note highway, the game listens to a connected microphone while you perform. Fortnite introduced the feature with Festival Season 14 on April 16, 2026.
The useful distinction is the input method: your voice becomes the gameplay input. Epic’s launch announcement says Mic Vocals works with a compatible Fortnite microphone on PC and console. The dedicated support pages also provide device troubleshooting for PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
Mic Vocals, standard Vocals and cosmetic Mics are different systems

Which microphones work with Fortnite Mic Vocals?
Epic’s compatibility rule is broad: Mic Vocals should work with any microphone you already use for Fortnite. That includes the four device groups below. You do not need a branded karaoke microphone or a plastic instrument controller just to start.
A dedicated USB mic usually offers the cleanest path because the operating system exposes it as a direct input device.
A wired or wireless headset microphone is supported when Fortnite can already use it as an input.
Built-in or controller-connected microphones can work and are useful when a headset input is not detected.
Supported, but extra transmission delay may require a positive Mic Offset adjustment.

How to set up Mic Vocals in Fortnite Festival
Use this order so each test changes only one variable. It is faster than moving several sliders before confirming that Fortnite receives the intended input.
Confirm that Windows or the console input meter reacts to your voice before opening the Festival song.
Make the intended mic the active Fortnite input rather than a webcam, monitor or idle controller.
Select Mic Vocals as the performance part, then choose a Jam Track that has lyrical vocal content.
Check recognition on a familiar song before compensating for wireless latency.
Epic currently documents gamepad or mouse and keyboard as the way to deploy Vocal Overdrive.
Set Mic Sensitivity before changing timing
Mic Sensitivity controls how readily Festival recognizes your vocal input. Epic places the slider under Settings > Game > Festival > Mic Sensitivity. Adjust it while using the same mic position and normal singing volume you will use in a song.
Raise the Festival slider gradually, then repeat the same phrase from the same distance.
Reduce sensitivity and move the mic closer instead of amplifying the entire room.
If the platform meter does not move, a Festival slider cannot repair the device route or permission.
If Fortnite still does not register your voice, Epic recommends correcting the microphone level at the operating-system or console level. Keep the physical mic roughly a hand’s width away, avoid pointing it directly at a fan, and do not switch between whispering and shouting during the same test.
Fix delayed Mic Vocals with Mic Offset
Mic Offset is a timing correction, not a volume control. Use it only after the microphone is being detected reliably. Wireless headsets and microphones can add transport delay, so the game may receive a correct vocal input later than expected.
Epic’s path is Settings > Game > Festival > Mic Offset. For Bluetooth hardware, Epic recommends adding an extra 60 milliseconds as a good starting point. Non-Bluetooth wireless setups may need less.
Repeatedly test the same verse or sustained phrase so the comparison is meaningful.
Change the value, replay and stop when the vocal response aligns consistently.
A wired USB mic and a Bluetooth headset should not be assumed to share the same offset.
Mic Vocals limits that look like bugs
Some behavior is intentional. Check these documented rules before reinstalling Fortnite or replacing a microphone.
Epic currently limits the Mic Vocals part to Player 1 in a local multiplayer session.
When voice chat is active, Fortnite changes it to push-to-talk while Mic Vocals gameplay runs.

A “no part available” warning means the Jam Track has no lyrical Mic Vocals gameplay.
Mic Vocals can still work because its audio route is separate from communication chat.

Fortnite Festival microphone not working: fix by symptom
Start at the top of the signal chain: device, platform, Fortnite input, Festival sensitivity, then timing. This prevents an offset change from hiding a basic detection failure.
Test the mic at platform level, select it as the active input, then raise Settings > Game > Festival > Mic Sensitivity gradually.

If a headset has automatic noise suppression, compare it carefully: heavy processing can help room noise but may also affect the beginning or tail of sustained sounds.
Changing distance changes input level and makes sensitivity tests unreliable.
Headphones reduce the backing track entering the microphone and creating false input.
Especially on Windows 11, disable Audio Enhancements when long notes are cut short.
