Fortnite Jam Tracks: Use Music Everywhere
Jam Tracks are reusable music items for Festival performances, Jam Loops, Battle Royale moments and Lobby music. Learn where to equip them, which parts each mode uses, and why a track can appear silent or missing.

Open the Locker’s Music or Lobby sections and equip the track. Use it for a Festival Main Stage setlist, four-part Jam Loops, Battle Royale Intro and Celebration Music, in-match playback from the Emote Wheel, or Lobby music. The exact controls depend on where you play it.
What Fortnite Jam Tracks actually are
Jam Tracks are music items stored on the Epic account. Unlike an old-style Lobby Track that only supplied menu background music, one Jam Track can support performance parts, loops, in-match playback, Battle Royale Game Moments, and Lobby music.
The owned item does not improve aim, movement, XP, Festival scoring, or matchmaking. Its value is functional reach: the same song can be part of a Main Stage setlist, a Jam Stage mashup, a Battle Royale entrance, and the account’s Lobby presentation.
Add the track to a Main Stage setlist and choose an available part.
Mix Lead, Drums, Vocals, and Bass with other players.
Use equipped tracks for intros, victories, in-match listening, or Lobby music.
How to equip Jam Tracks correctly
Equip the tracks before joining the Stage or opening the in-match player. Different Locker slots control different uses, so a song selected as Lobby music is not automatically the same choice used for Battle Royale Game Moments.
Start in the Fortnite Lobby and open the account’s Locker.
Use Music for Jam Track selection and Lobby for preferred background music.
Equip the songs needed for Festival, loops, or Battle Royale playback.
Check Main Stage, Game Moments, and Lobby separately.
Main Stage turns a Jam Track into six playable parts
On Fortnite Festival Main Stage, a Jam Track becomes a setlist song for the party. Players can choose Lead, Drums, Vocals, Bass, Pro Lead, or Pro Bass. Current Festival support allows Pro parts on supported keyboard-and-mouse setups, standard controllers, and guitar controllers.
Jam Stage uses four Locker Jam Loops
Jam Stage breaks owned tracks into Lead, Drums, Vocals, and Bass loops. Players can switch between the four parts and combine them with other equipped songs to build a live mashup. Epic’s current support describes playing with up to four people.
The loop system also provides tempo, key, and major/minor controls. A clean mashup usually starts with one rhythm foundation, then adds vocals and a lead part that do not clash. Owning more tracks creates more combinations, but coordinated part selection matters more than raw collection size.
Establish a stable rhythm before adding multiple melodic parts.
A recognizable vocal can anchor the mashup without overcrowding it.
Use the live Jam controls to make separate tracks fit more naturally.
Use Jam Tracks for Game Moments and in-match playback
Battle Royale uses Jam Tracks in two distinct ways. The Game Moments section assigns Intro Music for the Battle Bus jump and Celebration Music for a Victory Royale. The Jam Track player inside the Emote Wheel lets you start an owned song during a match.
Open the Emote Wheel, move to the Jam Tracks tab, select a song, and choose Listen mode when you want background playback without performing an instrument. Epic notes that some challenges specifically require Listen mode.
Jam Tracks can replace traditional Lobby music
Equip a Jam Track in the Locker’s Lobby area to use it as the preferred Lobby music. This is one reason older collection screenshots can look different from the 2026 Locker.
Epic states that, beginning in February 2025, Lobby Tracks that previously had a Jam Track version are available only through the Jam Track version and are found under the Jam Track section. If an old vinyl-style Lobby Track appears missing, search the Jam Track collection before assuming the music was removed.
Licensed Audio settings can mute a Jam Track
A song can be owned and equipped correctly but remain silent because the Licensed Audio option is muted. Epic places this control under Settings → Audio → Creator Options. Change Licensed Audio to the preferred play or mute setting.
Epic notes that this option does not apply to event playlists built around licensed content, such as concerts. Streamers should also treat in-game playback and external recording rights as separate questions; an item license inside Fortnite does not automatically promise claim-free use on every video platform.
Select the profile icon, then the gear icon.
Scroll to the Creator Options section.
Choose Play or the available mute preference for the account.
Fix missing, silent, or unavailable Jam Tracks
Use the exact symptom. A missing collection item, a silent licensed song, an unavailable Pro part, and an empty Festival setlist have different causes.
Open Audio settings and confirm Licensed Audio is set to Play.
