How does the Fortnite Music Pass work in 2026?
The current Fortnite Music Pass costs 1,200 V-Bucks or is included while Fortnite Crew is active. It contains free and premium music-themed rewards on one progression track. XP earned in any Fortnite experience advances all active passes simultaneously, so Festival play is not required. Premium access still needs an individual purchase or an active Crew subscription.
The Music Pass replaced the old Festival Pass
Epic renamed the Festival Pass to the Music Pass and moved it into Fortnite’s unified pass system. It focuses on music-themed cosmetics, Jam Tracks, Instruments, Auras and Outfits connected to featured artists.
The modern pass is not limited to players who grind Fortnite Festival. It advances alongside the Battle Pass, OG Pass and LEGO Pass whenever the account earns qualifying XP in any Fortnite experience.
The Fortnite Music Pass costs 1,200 V-Bucks
Epic’s current pass support lists the Music Pass at 1,200 V-Bucks. Older official announcements may still show 1,400 V-Bucks, but the live support page and in-game Passes tab are the current sources of truth.
The premium track can also be accessed through an active Fortnite Crew subscription. Epic’s purchase-channel support lists Fortnite passes in the in-game store; the Web Shop lists cosmetics, Jam Tracks and Crew, but not pass purchases.
Earn Music Pass XP in any Fortnite experience
Epic states that every active Fortnite pass progresses simultaneously when the account earns XP. Battle Royale, Fortnite Festival, LEGO Fortnite and qualifying creator-made experiences can all move the Music Pass forward.
Check the current Music Pass tier, available rewards and XP requirement.
Use Festival, Battle Royale, LEGO or another eligible experience.
The same XP advances every active pass, although tier requirements may differ.
Choose rewards as they unlock or let the pass collect the next available item.
Fortnite Festival Season 14 Emberlight Music Pass
Fortnite Festival Season 14 began on April 16, 2026, with Laufey as the featured Icon. This snapshot is useful for the current reward mix, while the pass mechanics in the rest of this guide remain evergreen.
How Fortnite Crew changes Music Pass access
Active Fortnite Crew includes the current Music Pass and lets the subscriber unlock and claim its premium rewards. If Crew is cancelled, benefits continue through the end of the paid billing period; cancelling only turns off the next renewal.
For Music Pass premium rewards gained through Crew, an active subscription is required. Already earned and claimed cosmetics remain in the Locker, but future premium claiming can stop after the billing period ends. The Music Pass can then be purchased separately.
Claim unlocked Music Pass rewards before the season ends
Rewards can be claimed in any order as they unlock, and auto-claim can collect the next available item. Epic also says earned but manually unclaimed pass rewards are granted automatically at the next login after the season ends.
The key word is earned. A reward that the account did not reach through the required XP is not created automatically just because the pass expired. Check tier progress and premium access separately.
No further pass action is needed for that reward.
Epic adds earned rewards on the next login even if manual claiming was missed.
Owning premium access alone does not grant tiers the account never reached.
The Music Pass cannot use Return Tickets
Epic excludes passes and premium reward tracks from both Cancel Purchase and Return Tickets. A mistaken Music Pass purchase therefore cannot use the normal 24-hour Item Shop cancellation path or the 30-day ticket path.
The qualifying V-Bucks grant after joining Crew within 14 days is a separate subscription rule, not a Return Ticket refund. Use the dedicated Fortnite pass refund guide for the full comparison.
Fix missing Music Pass access or progress
Start with the exact symptom. Missing premium access, delayed XP and a claimed reward absent from the Locker need different checks.
Confirm the Music Pass was purchased or the Fortnite Crew billing period is still active.
Verify access sourceReturn to the Lobby, reopen the Passes tab and allow delayed XP grants from some experiences to update.
Refresh pass progressClaim it manually or enable auto-claim. Earned unclaimed rewards should be granted after the season.
Check claim statusThat matches the subscription rule after the paid billing period. Buy the pass separately or resubscribe.
Restore premium accessCheck whether Crew began within 14 days of the active pass purchase and whether the purchase still qualified.
