Quick Answer

When is Ace the Bat-Hound coming to Fortnite?

Ace the Bat-Hound is scheduled to arrive with Fortnite Hot Bat Summer on July 16, 2026. Ace is a Sidekick cosmetic, not an Outfit, Back Bling, Sprite or vehicle. The final individual V-Bucks price, exact bundle relationship and Ace-specific customization options were not officially published before launch.

Open Ace’s live Item Shop details after services return. That screen, not promotional grouping or a community estimate, decides the price and what one purchase includes.

01 // Release

Fortnite Ace the Bat-Hound release date and live status

Ace the Bat-Hound is part of the Hot Bat Summer content planned for Thursday, July 16, 2026. The timing places the Sidekick beside Fortnite’s new DC summer promotion and the v41.20 content cycle. That date identifies the planned launch day. It does not guarantee an exact minute when every player can log in, find the Shop tab and complete a purchase.

A Fortnite update can include server maintenance, staged Shop changes or a delayed service return. Check Epic Games Public Status before diagnosing a missing offer during global downtime. After matchmaking and the Item Shop are live, search the DC or Hot Bat Summer section and open the complete Ace tile.

02 // Cosmetic Type

What is Ace the Bat-Hound in Fortnite?

Ace is Batman’s canine companion from DC and enters Fortnite as a Sidekick. Fortnite Sidekicks are friendly cosmetics that stay near the player, react to the world and support Sidekick Emotes. Epic describes them as companions without combat power. They are a distinct Locker category with behavior that differs from an Outfit, pet-style Back Bling or Sprite.

That category matters when reading the Shop tile. Buying a Batman Outfit does not automatically grant every Batman-related cosmetic. Likewise, promotional art that places Batman, Catwoman, Ace and a Batmobile together does not prove that one bundle includes all four categories. The checkout list is the ownership contract for the purchase.

03 // Shop Offer

Ace the Bat-Hound price and bundle status

Epic had not published a live Ace individual price before this July 15 review. Community posts have repeated a 1,200 V-Bucks estimate, but an estimate is not a verified Shop price. Do not place it in the SEO title, answer box or FAQ as fact. The value becomes publishable only when the released Ace tile shows it or Epic announces it directly.

The same rule applies to bundles. Ace appears beside the Hot Bat Summer lineup, but promotional grouping is creative marketing rather than a checkout manifest. A bundle can contain a subset of the displayed cosmetics, offer owned-item discounts or separate the Sidekick from every Outfit. Read each included item line before holding the purchase button.

Is Ace included with Summer Batman?

Do not assume so. If the live Batman Outfit tile lists only the Outfit and its own accessories, Ace is not included. If a wider bundle lists Ace by name and category, then that exact bundle grants him. The Fortnite DC Summer Skins Guide owns the four Outfit prices and bundle comparisons. This page owns only Ace’s purchase path.

Price update rule: Save a screenshot of the live tile, record date and region, copy the exact V-Bucks price, and state whether the number is individual or bundle pricing. Never replace those fields with rumor.
04 // Acquisition

How to get Ace the Bat-Hound in Fortnite

Ace is expected through the Fortnite Item Shop rather than a Battle Pass page, quest reward or Sprite collection. Wait until the July 16 update is live, verify the correct Epic account and open the complete Sidekick offer before spending V-Bucks. A clear four-step check prevents most wrong-account and wrong-bundle mistakes.

01Wait for live services

Install the current update and confirm that Epic services and the Item Shop have returned.

02Verify your Epic account

Check the display name and linked platform that own the Locker where Ace should remain.

03Open Ace’s full tile

Read cosmetic category, price, styles, restrictions and every included bundle item.

04Confirm the Locker grant

After purchase, open Locker, select Sidekicks and verify that Ace appears on the same account.

Cosmetics stay with the Epic account that purchases or receives them. Linked platforms can access the same Fortnite Locker when they use that account, but separate Epic accounts do not merge their cosmetics. Verify identity before purchase rather than trying to fix ownership afterward.

If Ace is offered individually and inside a larger bundle, compare the account-specific totals. Owning another component may affect the displayed bundle price. The best purchase is not automatically the largest tile. It is the offer that includes the items you want at the total your account actually shows.

Do not use a second account by mistake: Epic does not manually transfer a purchased cosmetic from one Epic account to another. The Fortnite Linked Accounts Guide explains how to verify platform connections safely.
05 // Locker Rules

Can you customize Ace the Bat-Hound?

Ace-specific player customization was not confirmed before launch. Epic’s current Sidekick support page says a Sidekick can be customized one time after it is obtained, but it also warns that not all Sidekicks can be customized. Therefore the general feature cannot be converted into a promise about this licensed DC companion.

Use the Locker entry as the final test. Open Locker, select Sidekicks and choose Ace. If the menu presents appearance options and a Next Step button, review every available trait before holding Lock-In. Epic says that choice becomes permanent for that copy. If Ace has no Customize Appearance route or the description states that customization is unavailable, that is an item restriction rather than a broken menu.

If options appearReview before Lock-In

Physical appearance choices become permanent for that owned copy.

If options do not appearCheck the description

Epic explicitly says that not every Sidekick supports customization.

If a name option appearsFinish the setup

Choose an allowed name or use Randomize Name, then save.

What does the IP customization rule mean?

Epic’s creator documentation says IP Sidekicks cannot be customized as ordinary creator-side NPC templates in UEFN. That is useful evidence that licensed companions can have restrictions, but it is not a substitute for Ace’s player Locker description. UEFN authoring controls and player cosmetic setup are different contexts. Record only what Ace’s released Locker menu permits.

Safe wording after launch: Write either “Ace offers these listed appearance options” or “Ace has no player appearance options in the current Locker.” Do not use the broad claim “all Sidekicks are customizable.”
06 // Compatibility

Which Fortnite modes support Ace?

Epic’s current Sidekick support lists Battle Royale, Save the World, LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival and developer-made experiences that enable Sidekicks. Ace belongs to the same player-facing cosmetic category, so these are the correct general compatibility targets unless the live Ace listing names an additional restriction.

Supported categoryBattle Royale

Ace can accompany the player without affecting combat or damage.

Supported categorySave the World

Epic includes Save the World in its Sidekick compatibility list.

Supported categoryLEGO Fortnite

Sidekicks can appear in supported LEGO Fortnite experiences.

Special behaviorFortnite Festival

The Sidekick stays backstage rather than performing on the main stage.

Creator choiceCustom islands

The island developer must enable Sidekicks for the companion to appear.

A missing companion on one creator island does not prove that Ace vanished from the account. Test a supported Epic mode such as Battle Royale first, then return to the island. Creator settings, island updates and temporary mode rules can affect whether a Sidekick is visible.

The UEFN Sidekick NPC system is also separate from the player’s cosmetic. Creators can script health, reactions or combat behavior for an island NPC. Those island-defined systems do not give the owned Ace cosmetic a competitive advantage in Battle Royale.

07 // Power

Does Ace the Bat-Hound give a gameplay advantage?

No. Epic says player-owned Sidekicks are friendly cosmetics, do not provide a gameplay advantage and do not take damage. Ace may follow, react and participate in Sidekick Emotes, but he cannot reveal enemy positions, scout through walls, block shots, attack opponents, carry loot or improve movement and weapon stats.

This distinction is especially important because the same Hot Bat Summer promotion also contains gameplay content and a Batman Sprite. The Batman Sprite can belong to a gameplay collection with a defined ability. Ace belongs to the cosmetic companion category. Sharing a Batman theme does not merge their functions.

Not a powerNo enemy reveal

Ace cannot mark, track or expose players for the owner.

Not a shieldNo damage blocking

A cosmetic Sidekick cannot absorb bullets or protect hit points.

Not a fighterNo attacks

Ace does not damage enemies or trigger combat abilities.

Cosmetic reactionWorld responses

Sidekicks can react to events and interact through Sidekick Emotes.

Visual companionLocker expression

The value is character identity and presentation, not stronger stats.

Island contextCreator NPCs differ

Scripted island behavior is not an owned Battle Royale advantage.

Batman gameplay intent: Use the Fortnite Batman Sprite Guide for the collection entry, power text and live tests. Keep Ace queries here.
08 // Category Check

Ace Sidekick vs Back Bling, Sprite, Outfit and Batmobile

Fortnite can promote several cosmetic and gameplay categories in one image. The correct category controls where an item appears, how it is equipped and whether a bundle includes it. Ace should be verified in the Sidekicks tab rather than searched for among Outfits or vehicle cosmetics.

CategoryWhere it belongsWhat it does
Ace the Bat-HoundSidekicksFollows and reacts as a cosmetic companion in supported experiences.
Back BlingOutfit loadoutAttaches directly to the equipped Outfit as a back cosmetic.
Batman SpriteSprite collectionUses the current Sprite system and requires its own power and source checks.
DC Summer OutfitOutfitsChanges the player’s character model and can have separate styles.
Summer BatmobileVehicle cosmeticBelongs to a vehicle-related offer with separate compatibility and pricing.

This also explains why ownership must be checked item by item. A Batman Outfit can exist without Ace. Ace can exist without a summer Batmobile. A Batman Sprite can be collected through gameplay without granting any Shop cosmetic. Search visibility improves when each URL answers one category deeply instead of repeating a broad Hot Bat Summer summary.

Bundle wording: “Shown together” is not equal to “sold together.” Only the live included-items list proves a bundle relationship.
09 // Progress and Refunds

Ace Sidekick Points, rewards and return consequences

Fortnite’s broader Sidekick system can use Sidekick Points and unlockable cosmetic rewards. The released Ace entry must show whether those progression elements apply to him and which accessories or quests are available. Do not invent Ace-specific rewards from another companion’s page.

The return consequence is already clear at system level. Epic Support says that when a Sidekick is returned, its earned Sidekick Points and unlockable rewards are removed. If that Sidekick is purchased again, progress toward its Sidekick Quests is reset. A refund decision therefore affects more than the base Locker icon after progress has begun.

Before useInspect the offer

Confirm price, category, restrictions and included items before equipping Ace.

After progressionRewards have consequences

A return removes earned points and unlockable Sidekick rewards.

After repurchaseProgress resets

Epic says Sidekick Quest progress does not return with the new purchase.

Can you cancel or return Ace?

Eligibility depends on Epic’s current purchase rules and how the cosmetic was acquired. Cancel Purchase can cover eligible V-Bucks Item Shop purchases within 24 hours when the item has not been equipped or used in gameplay. Eligible purchases shown within the 30-day refundable window may use a Return Ticket after that route closes. The exact in-game Return or Cancel Purchase screen is the final eligibility check.

If Ace is purchased inside a bundle, the return flow can remove the returned bundle contents together. Gifted items and other restricted categories follow separate rules. Use the Fortnite Web Item Shop Guide for the full generic workflow.

Think before equipping: If the price or bundle contents look wrong, inspect the purchase immediately. Gameplay use can close the quick cancellation route, and earned Sidekick progress will not survive a later return.
10 // Troubleshooting

Ace the Bat-Hound missing from the Shop or Locker

Start with the exact symptom. A missing Shop offer during maintenance, an owned Sidekick absent on one creator island and a purchase attached to the wrong Epic account are three different problems. Changing account links or reinstalling Fortnite before identifying the layer can make recovery harder.

Ace is not in the Item Shop on July 16

Check Epic service status, install the live update, refresh the Shop after services return and confirm that the promotional date has not changed.

Verify launch status
Ace was purchased but is not in Locker

Open Locker, select Sidekicks, confirm the same Epic display name and review recent purchases on that account.

Verify entitlement
Ace appears in Locker but not on an island

Test Battle Royale. Developer-made experiences must enable Sidekicks, so one island can hide the companion without removing ownership.

Test a supported mode
Customize Appearance is missing

Read the Ace description. Epic says not all Sidekicks can be customized, and a restriction is not fixed by reinstalling the game.

Check item rules
Next Step is grey

If Ace exposes appearance controls, make sure every required option is selected and the combination does not duplicate another owned copy.

Use a unique look
Points or rewards disappeared

Check purchase history. Epic states that returning a Sidekick removes points and unlockable rewards and resets quest progress after repurchase.

Check return history

When should you contact Epic Games Support?

Contact support after the correct account shows a completed purchase, Ace is missing from the Sidekicks Locker category and services are operational. Keep the transaction identifier, purchase date, platform, Epic display name and a screenshot of the missing entry. Do not share a password, authentication code or full payment credentials.

Best diagnostic order: server status, live Shop, correct Epic identity, recent purchase record, Sidekicks tab, supported-mode test, then Support. Each step eliminates a separate cause.
11 // FAQ

Fortnite Ace the Bat-Hound FAQ

How much does Ace the Bat-Hound cost in Fortnite?

Epic had not published Ace’s live individual V-Bucks price at this July 15 review. Check the Item Shop listing after launch and do not treat community estimates as confirmed prices.

Is Ace the Bat-Hound included in a Fortnite bundle?

Ace appears with the Hot Bat Summer cosmetic lineup, but promotional placement does not prove bundle ownership. Read the live offer contents before purchasing a DC Summer Outfit or any wider bundle.

Can you customize Ace the Bat-Hound in Fortnite?

Ace-specific player customization was not confirmed before launch. Epic says not every Sidekick can be customized, so use the live Locker entry and the presence or absence of Customize Appearance as the final answer.

Does Ace the Bat-Hound give a gameplay advantage?

No. Epic says player-owned Sidekicks are cosmetic, do not provide a gameplay advantage and do not take damage. Ace cannot reveal enemies, attack players or improve stats.

Which Fortnite modes support Ace the Bat-Hound?
