R6 Y11S2.2 Patch Notes: Jäger, Wamai and the Mid-Season Meta
The Y11S2.2 update makes Jäger fast again, doubles Wamai’s Mag-NET generation rate, rewires Dokkaebi’s cooldown, expands console input choices and refreshes Ranked and 1v1. Here is every important change—plus what it actually means in your next match.
Y11S2.2 is a utility-and-mobility patch with one major console change.
Jäger becomes 3 Speed, Wamai gets faster and more reactive Mag-NETs, Zofia gains two extra launcher rounds, and Dokkaebi moves to a 14-second per-target cooldown. Native mouse and keyboard is now supported on console in the PC crossplay pool. The update also brings back a faster 1v1 Bomb mode and rotates Kanal, Villa and Theme Park into Ranked.
The biggest Y11S2.2 winners and changes at a glance
Y11S2.2 is not a new-season content drop. It is a midseason correction that touches several systems at once. The most visible competitive impact lands on projectile denial: Jäger gains mobility and an easier 416-C, while Wamai gets more Mag-NETs sooner and a stronger secondary-gadget choice.
Twice the charge rate, faster activation, one more maximum charge and a Deployable Shield.
3 Speed returns, and the 416-C becomes more controllable through longer bursts.
Cooldowns follow each defender instead of locking the entire ability globally.
Three impacts and three concussions give the Lifeline more round-long influence.
Away from Operator balance, console players receive official mouse and keyboard support with strict pool separation, 1v1 Bomb returns as a faster limited-time mode, and the Ranked rotation swaps three maps. These are different search intents with dedicated Alviran guides; this page keeps them together only as the complete Y11S2.2 picture.
Jäger and Wamai now solve the same problem in very different ways
Ubisoft’s stated goal is to keep both defenders in the projectile-catcher role while separating their play patterns. Jäger places his ADS devices early and can then rotate away. Wamai continues building utility during the round, demanding more attention but adapting to the attackers’ route.
His ADS network is front-loaded. The return to 3 Speed lets him finish setup, take an early position and rotate between pressure points faster. The tradeoff is 1 Health, so poor positioning is punished harder.
Mag-NETs arrive every 20 seconds instead of 40, activate in 0.5 seconds and cap at seven rather than six. He has more freedom to react to the actual execute instead of guessing everything in prep.
More rotation and roaming potential, but less damage tolerance.
Vertical recoil is lower, lateral movement is smoother and difficult recoil begins later on both input types.
Earlier defensive power and less punishment when the first Mag-NET placement must be delayed.
Late reactive placements are safer, while a surviving Wamai has a higher utility ceiling.
The Shield supports anchor positions; C4 adds lethal denial but removes his quick rotation option.
Practical read: Jäger is the simpler plug-and-play catcher for a lineup that needs early utility and a mobile gun. Wamai is the higher-attention anchor or flex for a setup that can protect him long enough to compound Mag-NET value. Stacking both remains strongest when the site expects a projectile-heavy clear, not as an automatic every-round answer.
Dokkaebi rewards target choice; Zofia gains six launcher shots
Dokkaebi’s Jegeo Payload no longer follows one global cooldown for the entire ability. Each defender gets an individual 14-second recovery window after being affected. That gives defenders clearer protection from repeated calls, but it also lets Dokkaebi pressure a different target without waiting for the first defender’s protection to expire.
Identify the defender your entry is about to pressure. A call gains value when the team can act during the sound window; calling a target with no follow-up merely starts their 14-second protection.
Three Impact Grenades and three Concussion Grenades mean Zofia can clear, pressure and still keep a projectile for the execute. The buff is strongest when she avoids spending everything on the first room.
The Dokkaebi change is neither a clean buff nor a simple nerf. Repeating pressure on the same roamer is slower—14 seconds instead of seven—but splitting calls across defenders is more flexible than a global lock. In coordinated play, comms should name the intended target before activation. In solo queue, look at where drones and teammates already have pressure so the call creates an actionable cue.
Rauora, Melusi, Twitch and Lesion receive refinement buffs
Ubisoft labels these as refinements rather than power shifts. They are meant to smooth consistency and usability without redefining an Operator’s identity. The numbers are smaller than the Wamai or Jäger changes, but they still affect timing and placement.
The delay between shots falls by two seconds, making repeated panel interaction less awkward during a fast push.
The slightly larger trigger area forgives imperfect placement without changing what the gadget is built to do.
Well-preserved drones generate shots a little sooner across a long round.
A surviving Lesion builds his trap network faster and reaches stronger late-round coverage.
Lesion’s five-second reduction has the clearest repeatable timing impact: a player who stays alive receives later mines meaningfully earlier. Melusi’s 0.3-meter increase is primarily a placement-quality improvement. Twitch and Rauora become smoother to use, but neither change alone should force a new lineup.
Native mouse and keyboard is supported—without entering controller-only pools
Y11S2.2 introduces official mouse and keyboard support on PlayStation and Xbox across gameplay, menus and system interactions. To enable it, connect the devices and set Crossplay & Input Devices to PC & Consoles. The player then joins the PC crossplay matchmaking pool with PC users and console users who chose the same pool.
- PC & Consoles pool: controller and mouse and keyboard are allowed. PC and console players can squad and match together.
- Consoles Crossplay pool: controllers only. Native mouse and keyboard is not enabled for gameplay.
- PlayStation-only or Xbox-only pool: controllers only, with matchmaking limited to the chosen platform.
- Squads: the Squad Leader’s Crossplay & Input Devices selection determines the pool and the allowed input for the group.
- Text chat: console text chat is available in Y11S2.2. Keyboard users can type directly; controller users can use the console’s on-screen keyboard.
This is not permission to use adapters in controller-only matchmaking. Ubisoft explicitly keeps those pools controller-only, and Mousetrap enforcement remains relevant for attempts to bypass the input rules. Local Custom Games expose an Allowed Input Devices option for the lobby host; training and other offline playlists still require PC & Consoles to enable M&K.
1v1 Bomb returns with less downtime and stricter adaptation
The Y11S2.2 version of 1v1 Arcade is designed around faster rounds and less repetition. Ubisoft’s July 16 overview says the mode runs for two weeks, so availability is time-sensitive even though the rules remain useful for understanding future returns.
Coastline, Consulate and Outback enter. House leaves. The pool grows from three maps to five.
A round winner cannot immediately reuse the Operator they just played, forcing adaptation across the series.
The site is revealed at the start, prep drops from 30 to 15 seconds and the reinforcement pool falls from ten to six.
All Operators are available except Montagne, Blackbeard, Blitz and Clash. Matchmaking now uses Ranked skill information rather than Quick Match data, and new players without a Ranked rating receive an initial estimate. The result should be closer duels and less time spent waiting for the round to begin.
Kanal, Villa and Theme Park enter Ranked in Y11S2.2
The July 16 midseason overview confirms a three-for-three rotation. Kanal, Villa and Theme Park are added; Coastline, Outback and Emerald Plains are removed. Ubisoft states that Pro League maps and Showcased maps remain unchanged.
Refresh default attacks, defensive rotations and essential hard-breach routes before treating any of the three as an automatic ban.
Move these out of the active stack prep sheet so practice time follows the current queue.
Do not confuse the 1v1 map update with the Ranked rotation. Coastline and Outback are added to the returning 1v1 Arcade pool but removed from Ranked at midseason. The two statements describe different playlists and can both be correct.
Trial Operators rotate weekly, while four targeted bugs are fixed
For the week highlighted in Ubisoft’s July 16 overview, the free attackers are Gridlock, Montagne and Flores; the free defenders are Ela, Azami and Caveira. Trials can be used in Enlisted, Quick Match, Team Deathmatch, Unranked, Ranked and Siege Cup. Because the lineup rotates every week, treat these six names as a dated launch-week snapshot.
Mute’s Signal Disruptor no longer wrongly disables ACOG or Holo sights on the XK23. A magazine-position issue after a cancelled tactical reload is also fixed.
AI gadget deployment is fixed in Kanal’s 1F Security and Map rooms. Ubisoft also addresses grey microphone icons that could block voice communication.
What your stack should change before the next Ranked queue
Reading numbers is useful only if the lineup and routine change with them. Start with the decisions that affect the most rounds, then test the smaller refinements after the core plan is stable.
- Rebuild projectile-denial roles: choose Jäger for front-loaded ADS coverage and mobility; choose Wamai when the setup can protect a reactive anchor long enough to generate value.
- Relearn Jäger gunfights: test the smoother 416-C in the Shooting Range on your actual input. Do not let easier recoil hide the risk of 1 Health.
- Call Dokkaebi targets: name the defender and the intended swing before sending the Jegeo Payload. Avoid spending a call into a target nobody can pressure.
- Spread Zofia utility: reserve at least one launcher projectile for the execute instead of emptying all six during the opening clear.
- Update the map sheet: restore Kanal, Villa and Theme Park prep; temporarily remove Coastline, Outback and Emerald Plains from Ranked practice.
- Confirm the squad input pool: console Squad Leaders should check Crossplay & Input Devices before queueing so nobody discovers the allowed input at matchmaking time.
For solo players, the easiest high-value adjustment is Operator choice. Jäger and Wamai both improve, but their risk profiles differ: Jäger can leave his utility behind and take space; Wamai benefits from surviving, observing the attack and placing late utility. Pick the one whose job you can actually execute in that round.
