The safest Stage 2 meta call is not “copy Masters London.” Patch 13.00 buffs Cypher, Killjoy, Veto, Sage and Deadlock, shortens several Initiator cooldowns, and puts Summit into Competitive. London’s Lotus, Split and Fracture trends are useful context, but the first Stage 2 matchdays must reset the sample.

Riot’s Act 4 patch changes the strategic environment in three important ways: Sentinels get targeted buffs, Initiator signature cooldowns are reduced, and Summit enters the Competitive Map Rotation. That combination can reward slower information cycles, stronger site anchoring and more late-round utility.
Masters London map trends to use as a baseline
The Masters London reference sample is useful because it is the most recent international comparison point, but it happened before Patch 13.00 and before Summit entered Competitive. The table below is a reference, not a Stage 2 leaderboard.

What to watch in each Stage 2 region
EMEA: Four Challenger teams enter the Play-Ins, so the region’s first meta question is adaptation speed. Teams that can hide a map-specific composition may gain more than a generic tier-list favorite.
Americas: The Stage 2 format combines two groups with a Challengers play-in. Watch whether the established teams protect comfort maps or force new bans to avoid Summit preparation gaps.
Pacific: With 12 teams split across two groups, map veto identity can separate established international teams from teams that win through regional specialists.
China: EDward Gaming, Xi Lai Gaming, Dragon Ranger Gaming and the rest of the 12-team field bring different tempo assumptions. The useful signal is repeated composition success, not one cross-region comparison.
How the Stage 2 meta should be updated
Meta articles become unreliable when they mix a pre-event prediction with a tiny live sample. Use staged labels instead:
- Pre-event: Patch 13.00 changes plus Masters London reference only.
- Early sample: First 20 Stage 2 maps; describe trends, not “the meta.”
- Working meta: Around 50 maps with agent pick/ban and map-side splits.
- Stable update: Refresh after each regional stage or major patch.
Every table update should state the sample size, region coverage and whether the number is a pick rate, ban rate, win rate or side win rate.
