Fortnite Power Rankings: How PR Really Works
Power Ranking is not a race to play the most cups. It is Epic’s current rating of your stronger tournament performances, adjusted for the event, the field, time and your Ranked standing.
PR is a rating, not a points grind.
Fortnite Power Rankings keep your 20 best tournament results, adjust them for event strength and time, then add Ranked bonuses from both Battle Royale and Reload. A weak new result does not lower your PR just because you played it, it simply will not enter the Top 20. Older counted results do decay, so you must keep delivering current performance.
Your finish matters in context, not in isolation
Epic’s model does not assign a fixed points total for merely entering or placing in an event. It rates a tournament performance against the field, weights that result by the event’s importance, applies time decay and combines the counted results in an Elo-style system. That is why identical finishing positions can carry different value in different events.
Epic rates performance relative to the field, not only the raw finish number. Stronger opposition can make a comparable result more valuable.
Epic applies a multiplier based on the tournament. A more important event can outweigh a better raw placing in a lower-weighted one.
Results are fully retained through 180 days, then decay; by 720 days they have no remaining value in the current rating.
A new result counts only if it improves the set
Epic counts your top 20 rated tournament results. Anything below the current twentieth result does not affect PR. A fresh result replaces an older counted one only when it rates higher. This means you can play a tournament without automatically damaging the rating, while still needing new good performances to replace decaying or weaker entries.
Every Battle Royale or Reload tournament is a chance to create a result. The result receives a performance rating in the current system.
Compare the live result set. Only a rating high enough to beat the current cutoff belongs in your counted 20.
Do not rely forever on an old peak. After 180 days it begins to decline, reaching zero contribution at 720 days.
Your Battle Royale and Reload ranks add to PR
Epic adds the seasonal Ranked bonus from both Battle Royale Ranked and Reload Ranked. The two bonuses are added, and the value rises with rank. This is separate from tournament performance: improve both your competitive results and your relevant Ranked tiers if Power Ranking is a goal.
