Hypixel Ranks Explained: VIP, VIP+, MVP, MVP+ and MVP++ in 2026
A Hypixel rank looks like a badge of status, but VIP, MVP and MVP++ are bought, not earned, and they say little about how long an account has played. Learn how each rank is obtained, what MVP++ changed, and what a rank really proves.

1. The ranks and how each is obtained
Hypixel's support page on how to obtain ranks lists the ranks on the server. It says the store always has the most up-to-date perks, so check the store for prices and benefits.

Perks and prices change, so use the Hypixel Store rather than a screenshot or an old guide.
2. MVP++ is a subscription
Hypixel's 20 November 2025 announcement changed MVP++. It says MVP++ is now subscription-based and can be auto-renewed, that prepaid days can still be bought in the in-game store and are paused while a subscription is active, and that everyone with MVP++ earns 500 SkyBlock Gems each month. It also added subscriber emblems in SkyBlock, 11 in total, with the last reached at 60 months, and two new lobby statuses: MVP++ since a date, and MVP++ for a number of months.
What it means for a buyer. An MVP++ rank can be paid for by a running subscription or by prepaid days. A subscription is managed by whoever pays for it, so ask what exactly is active and how long it lasts. The lobby statuses show how long the rank has been held, not how long the account has existed.
3. Rank is not network level
The network level is a different number. A rank is bought, so it does not show play time. Check the network level separately. A high rank on a new account and a low rank on a veteran account can both occur. Our listings can show the Hypixel level and the rank as separate facts.

4. What Hypixel's rules say about trading
Hypixel's server rules list under Account Abuse: selling, trading, giving away any accounts, or sharing accounts between players. They also list Game Trading: the exchange of game content, items, currency, services or accounts through external third-party platforms. The rules add that a punishment may lead to the removal of game stats, currencies or items.
That is the reason a rank is a weak thing to pay for. It belongs to the account that bought it, and Hypixel does not allow accounts to be sold. A rank shown on a listing is a fact about a moment, not a guarantee that it will stay.
5. Five questions before you buy
- Which rank is it, and is it MVP+ or MVP++?
- For MVP++, is a subscription or prepaid time running, and for how long?
- What is the network level, and how long has the account played?
- Is the rank shown from a profile or from a chat name that could be a nick?
- Do the listing and the account match, with the same username and date?
6. Four mistakes that cost money
Paying for the rank
A rank can be bought, so it does not show how long the account has played. Check what else the account has.
Reading rank as age
A rank says nothing about how long the account has played.

MVP++ can depend on a running subscription or prepaid days.
Trusting an old guide
MVP++ changed in November 2025, so older guides may be wrong.

Are Hypixel ranks bought or earned?
VIP, VIP+, MVP, MVP+ and MVP++ are purchased at the Hypixel Store. Staff and YouTube ranks are not on Hypixel's list of purchasable ranks.

Mojang says buying or selling accounts breaks its terms, and the Microsoft Services Agreement restricts transferring account credentials. A check does not override those terms or establish that an account transfer is authorised. Hypixel's own rules prohibit selling, trading or giving away accounts.
