Service closure is different from account eligibility
A trading service must be available before personal eligibility matters. An older tutorial may tell you to activate protection, reach a level or accept an agreement. Those checks do not override a service-wide closure.
Begin with the official status announcement, then read the exact page message. A maintenance notice, a login issue and a closed marketplace require different responses. Keep the error text and time if you need help identifying which one you encountered.
What a reopening claim would need
Look for a dated Ubisoft announcement stating that access has resumed and describing the new rules. A social post predicting a month, an old screenshot or a working login screen is not equivalent to confirmation that buying and selling are available.
Do not budget around an item price from the old market. Historical transactions can explain past demand, but they cannot establish an executable purchase price in a closed or redesigned service.
Useful checks while trading is unavailable
Review the cosmetics you already own in the game and keep a shortlist of exact weapons and finishes you want. That is useful whether future access returns or your preferred item appears through another official reward route.
Never give a third party your login, recovery code or currency to “unlock” Marketplace access. Account recovery and item ownership questions belong with Ubisoft Support. A Marketplace cosmetic trade and the transfer of an entire game account are different activities; one does not authorize the other.
