Fortnite V-Bucks Across Platforms: Shared Wallet Guide
A different balance does not automatically mean your V-Bucks were lost. Where they were purchased matters.
In this guide

Purchased currency and earned currency differ
Separate paid top-ups from rewards earned through eligible passes, quests or Save the World. Keep receipts for purchases and note where you made them. The number shown on one device may combine currency sources that another device cannot all access.
Epic also lists a regional exception for PC purchases in Korea. Use the official Shared Wallet explanation for your platform and region rather than assuming that every purchase behaves the same way.
A simple balance example
Suppose you have 1,000 V-Bucks bought on a shared-wallet platform and 500 earned through eligible rewards. The shared platform can show 1,500 while Switch shows only the eligible earned portion, 500. This is an example, not a claim about your actual purchase history.
Conversely, a purchased Switch balance need not appear on the other platforms. That separation concerns the currency balance. Cosmetics purchased with V-Bucks are a different entitlement and can be available across linked platforms on the same account.
| What differs | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Currency balance | Purchase platform and earned amount |
| Cosmetic inventory | Epic account and item ownership |
| Regional purchase | Applicable official exception |
Troubleshoot without moving accounts
Sign in to the same Epic account on both devices, record the balances and compare them with receipts. Check whether the issue is a completed top-up, platform separation or an unintended account. These are different questions for support.
Do not unlink a platform to “move” its wallet. Account linking is not a currency transfer tool, and changing it can complicate access. For an uncredited payment, contact the appropriate purchase-platform support with the order reference.
Frequently asked questions
Can I merge two accounts’ V-Bucks?
Shared Wallet concerns eligible platforms on one account; it is not an account-merging feature.
Does a different Switch balance mean skins are gone?
No. Check currency sharing separately from cosmetic ownership.
