Looking for a League of Legends account?
Compare server, rank, champions and skins on every listing. This guide explains what moving between servers costs.
1. The basics in four numbers
Riot's Account Transfer FAQ states that a transfer costs 2600 RP one way. You buy it in the store by clicking the Account button next to “Purchase RP”, choose the region you are transferring from, and the list of eligible destination regions appears. For most accounts it is near-instantaneous, and accounts with a very large RP balance get a short manual review.
Riot also runs transfer promotions. Eligible accounts then receive a transfer token that moves the account to the server named in the promotion for free, and the token disappears when the promotion ends.
2. What carries over and what does not
| Item | After the transfer |
|---|---|
| Account level, champions, skins and ward skins | Transfer with the account. |
| Emotes, icons, rune pages and item sets | Transfer. |
| BE balance and remaining RP | Transfer. RP is what is left after the cost of the transfer. |
| Hextech Crafting inventory and XP boosts | Transfer. |
| Champion Mastery levels | Transfer. |
| Honor level, Eternals, Challenges, objectives and Battle Pass progress | Transfer. |
| Hidden MMR value | Transfers, adapted to the new region. |
| Riot ID and friends list | Transfer. |
| Current ranked league placement | Does not transfer. You play placements again. |
| Victory Points | Do not transfer. |
| Your Shop offers | Do not transfer. |
| Clash Club affiliations and Clash match history | Do not transfer. |
Riot's list of what transfers also covers Clash trophies, banners and flag frames and the account's statistics. For Teamfight Tactics it lists Little Legends, Arena skins, hextech content and mission progress, and adds that if you transfer, make progress, and then transfer back, your TFT progress reverts to where it was at the first transfer.
3. Where you cannot transfer
Riot's page lists the destinations that are unavailable from each region. The pattern is that Brazil, Russia and Korea cannot be a destination, and a few regions have further limits.
| From | Unavailable destinations |
|---|---|
| North America, EU West, EU East, Oceania, Japan, LATAM North, LATAM South, Southeast Asia, Middle East | Brazil, Russia, Korea |
| Turkey | Brazil, Russia, Korea, LATAM North, LATAM South |
| Vietnam, Taiwan | Brazil, Russia, Korea, North America |
| Brazil, Russia | Any other shard region |
If you want to play on a server you do not have an account on, Riot's regional servers page says each Riot Account is linked to a specific League region. An account created for one region cannot log in to the client intended for another.
Start with the server you play on
A transfer costs 2600 RP and means replaying placement matches, so match the server before you compare anything else.
4. What happens to your rank
You need to play all-new placement games on the new server. Riot says the seeding is based on your current MMR relative to the MMR of everyone on that server, so you could land in a different tier or division than the one you left. If you ever transfer back, you are unranked again and replay placements as if you were moving to a new server.
That makes a rank screenshot from before a move a poor guide to where the account will place afterwards. Our ranked guide explains what a rank does and does not prove.
5. Cooldown, patch days and mistakes
| Rule | What Riot says |
|---|---|
| Cooldown | A transfer has a 90-day cooldown. You wait 90 days before you can make another one. |
| Patch days | Transfers are unavailable until the destination server has finished patching. |
| Accidental transfer | Riot cannot reverse it and cannot refund it. |
| Hijacked account | Moving it back costs nothing. Riot restores it to the region it was played in before the hijack. |
| TFT on mobile | Players who only play TFT on mobile have to download the PC or Mac client to transfer. |
| Failed transfer | Send a ticket with your username, Riot ID, email, current and target server and a screenshot of the error. |
Check the current page. The price, the cooldown and the list of blocked destinations are Riot's, and Riot changes them. The page we read on 12 October 2026 says 2600 RP and 90 days.
6. What it means when you compare accounts
A server is a cost, not a detail. If a listing is on a different server from the one you want, moving it costs 2600 RP before you count the cooldown, the placement matches and any blocked destination.
- Which server is the account on, and is it the one you play on?
- Is the destination you would need to move to allowed from that region?
- Has the account been transferred recently, and does the cooldown still apply?
- Does the rank shown still stand, or was it earned on another server?
- Do you have the RP? Riot prices the transfer in RP.
Our guide to Blue Essence, Orange Essence and RP shows how the currencies differ.
7. Four mistakes people make
Assuming rank travels
Your current placement does not transfer. You play placements again.
Forgetting the cooldown
A second transfer needs 90 days.
Transferring on a patch day
It is unavailable until the destination finishes patching.
Treating it as reversible
Riot cannot undo or refund a transfer.
