Rarest LoL Skins 2026: 15 League of Legends Skins Riot Gave Out Once

Most League skins come back sooner or later. These 15 did not: Riot gave them out at one event, for one pre-order or for one achievement, and its own guide says there are no plans to bring them back.

Rarest LoL skins 2026: the ranked list

We ranked by how narrow the window was. A skin given at one event or for one achievement ranks above one given at several events. Anything Riot sells today or lets you re-roll is left off, and the one skin that was sold briefly during its original event sits at the bottom. Riot does not publish how many players own each skin, so this is an editorial ranking built on Riot's own descriptions.

Every “how” in the table comes from Riot's Guide to Legacy and Limited Skins or from the skin description in the game client. Riot last updated that guide on 25 May 2026 and marks it as no longer maintained, so we cross-checked each name against the current client data.

How LoL skin rarity works: Limited, Legacy, Prestige and Victorious

“Rare” is not a tier you can filter for. Price tiers such as Epic or Legendary say how much work went into a skin; our skin rarity tiers guide covers them. Scarcity comes from how a skin was released, and Riot sorts that into a few groups.

What each group means for availability
GroupWhat Riot saysCan it come back?
Limited, achievementEarned by completing tasks or achievements. Not for sale, with no plans to make them available by other means. No
Limited, promotional or eventGiven away at conventions and events such as PAX. Not sold in the store. No
Limited, Collector's EditionOnly in the digital or retail Collector's Edition packs. No
LegacyFairly rare skins not normally in the store. Sometimes in bundles or event sales; most above 520 RP can be reached through Mystery Gifting and Hextech Crafting.Yes
PrestigePrestige skins released at least a year ago can be unvaulted in the Mythic Shop, two per month.Yes
VictoriousRanked reward for one season. Listed by Riot under achievement skins. No

Two exceptions in Riot's own guide. Neo PAX Sivir and Dark Star Cho'Gath count as Legacy, yet Riot says neither can be reached through re-rolling. Riot skins such as Riot Graves were also sold for a short time in the store during events in their release year.

Why each of the top skins is rare

Triumphant Ryze

The only skin on the list you had to win. Riot ties it to winning an official League of Legends tournament, so it was never open to normal players at all.

PAX Twisted Fate

One convention, PAX 2009. Riot lists it as Limited and not sold in the store, and the client still describes it as a PAX 2009 giveaway.

King Rammus

Closed Beta players only. The client files it under the Beta skin line, and Riot lists it under achievement skins with no plans to return.

UFO Corki

A thank-you for voting in the Reader's Choice Awards 2009. The window was the vote itself.

Young Ryze, Black Alistar, Silver Kayle

The three Collector's Edition skins Riot still lists as Limited. Young Ryze and Black Alistar needed a pre-order; Silver Kayle came in the retail box.

Championship Riven

Given away during the Season 2 World Finals and again at the 2014 World Finals. The 2016 Reignited version is a separate skin.

Victorious skins: rare before 2025, common after

Older Victorious skins needed Gold or higher in their season, which is why the early ones are on many rarity lists. Since Season One of 2025, Riot's ranked rewards page says you earn the season's Victorious skin by winning 15 ranked games in Solo/Duo or Flex, at Honor level 3 or higher. The chroma still depends on your final rank.

Victorious skins by season (Riot's list)
SeasonVictorious skinRequirement
Season 1 (2011)Jarvan IVGold or higher
Season 2 (2012)JannaGold or higher
Season 3 (2013)EliseGold or higher
2014MorganaGold or higher
2015SivirGold or higher
2016MaokaiGold or higher
2017GravesGold or higher
2018OriannaGold or higher
2019 to 2022Aatrox, Lucian, Blitzcrank, SejuaniGold or higher
2023 to 2024 (5 splits)Anivia, Tryndamere, Kog'Maw, Sona, Master YiSplit points
2025 Seasons 1 and 2Twisted Fate, Fiora15 ranked wins

Riot's list stops at Fiora because the guide is no longer updated. The current client data also contains Victorious Rengar, Draven and Braum, described as earned with enough split points. The older the season and the higher the bar, the rarer the skin, so Victorious Jarvan IV, Janna and Elise are the ones that matter for rarity.

Black Alistar Modern and the 2026 Founders skins

2026 added a twist. The League Classic Collector's Box on Riot's merch store includes a Goth Annie Modern skin and a Black Alistar Modern skin, plus a Silver Kayle Modern skin in an exclusive bundle, with the digital content delivered in patch 26.15. The client data lists them as Black Alistar Modern and Founders Silver Kayle, separate entries from the 2009 skins.

So the originals did not come back. If a listing shows Black Alistar, check whether it is the original or the Modern version. The box also includes Classic chromas, which Riot says can only be used in League Classic, and League Classic itself runs until 6 January 2027.

Skins that look rare but can come back

Plenty of skins feel rare because you never see them, yet Riot can bring them back. These are not on our list:

Common “rare” skins that are not one-time
Skin or groupWhy it is not on the list
Legacy skins (for example Festival Kassadin, Safari Caitlyn)Riot says most Legacy skins above 520 RP are available through Mystery Gifting and Hextech Crafting, and they return in bundles and sales.
Prestige skinsRiot's Mythic content overhaul made Prestige skins eligible for unvaulting in the Mythic Shop after one year. Original owners of 2018 and 2019 Prestiges got modified versions instead.
Unchained Alistar, Riot Girl TristanaPromotional skins for subscribing to League on YouTube or becoming a fan on Facebook. Riot lists them as not currently available, but the offer was open to anyone.
Grey Warwick, Medieval TwitchFrom the retired Refer-a-Friend programme and later rare Honor capsule drops.
Three Honors Malzahar and AkshanGiven to every player who ended the 2022 or 2023 season at Honor level 5.

Our rarity tiers guide lists recent unvaults by patch, and the currency guide explains Mythic Essence and Orange Essence.

How to verify a rare skin on an account

Open the Collection

Go to Collection, then Skins, and filter to owned skins. Limited and Legacy skins only show in a champion's information tab if you own them.

Read the exact name

Worlds 2012 Riven is the original Championship Riven; Reignited Worlds 2012 Riven is the 2016 skin. Black Alistar and Black Alistar Modern are different skins.

Rule out shards

A skin shard in the Loot tab is not an owned skin until it is redeemed.

Date the evidence

A screenshot proves one moment. Ask for the date and the Riot ID next to it.

Server and ranked access matter as much as skins. Read our LoL account guide before you compare accounts.

Frequently asked questions

What is the rarest skin in League of Legends?

Triumphant Ryze, which Riot awards for winning an official League of Legends tournament. Among skins normal players could get, PAX Twisted Fate from PAX 2009 and King Rammus from the Closed Beta are the narrowest.

Is Black Alistar coming back?

The original is a Limited Collector's Edition skin and has not returned. In 2026 Riot added a separate Black Alistar Modern skin through the League Classic Collector's Box.

Are Legacy skins rare?

Riot calls them fairly rare, but most Legacy skins above 520 RP can be reached through Mystery Gifting and Hextech Crafting, and they return in bundles and sales.

Can you still get Victorious skins?

Only the current season's. Each Victorious skin belongs to one season, and Riot lists them as achievement skins with no plans to sell them.

Can you still get Championship Riven?

No. Riot says it was given away during the Season 2 and 2014 World Finals and is no longer available. Reignited Worlds 2012 Riven is a different skin.

Do Prestige skins stay rare?

No. Since the Mythic content overhaul, Prestige skins can be unvaulted in the Mythic Shop a year after release.

How many skins does League have?

The patch 16.20 client data holds 1,994 non-base skin entries. That number includes Classic-mode skins and special editions, so it is not a count of store skins.
