Compare the reward, not the color of the box
A broad cosmetic collection, a named seasonal collection and a weapon-color collection serve different goals. If you want one particular item, the correct question is whether it appears in the pack you can earn now.
Keep random packs separate from tickets that select a reward. Opening a pack and redeeming a selection ticket are different actions even when they refer to the same collection.

Why old Bravo guides can mislead you
Ubisoft introduced the Bravo Ticket in 2023 as a Premium Battle Pass level-100 reward. That is historical context, not proof that every later pass offers the same ticket. The current official Split Fire page lists twenty Delta Packs, ten Alpha Packs and two Black Ice Packs.
Before buying a pass for a specific reward, find its actual tile. If the ticket is not advertised, an old guide does not add it to the purchase.
Duplicates and selection need separate checks
Do not generalize duplicate rules from one system to another. Ubisoft’s Black Ice Pack launch announcement describes duplicate conversion to Renown. That does not establish the current duplicate policy for every other pack.
Write down what the collection screen says before comparing value: can a duplicate appear, what happens to it, and is the wanted item eligible? Without those details, “more packs” is not a meaningful comparison.
A practical collection decision
If you want a specific weapon finish, begin with the eligible items. If you simply enjoy expanding a collection, compare rewards with the playtime and currency required. An unearned pass reward is not part of your inventory yet.
Keep a short list of wanted items and check it against each system. This makes it easier to avoid buying a whole progression track for rewards you would not otherwise use.
