Clash of Clans event troops list: all 30 temporary troops

The list comes from Supercell's game files (client 18.647.6, 21 October 2026), where every temporary troop carries a calendar flag. First appearances and returns come from Supercell's own event posts. Where Supercell's current blog does not reach back far enough, the date comes from the community wiki and is marked "wiki". Housing is the base value in the files; events can change it, as with the 35-space Lavaloon of October 2025.

"-" means we found no official post about a return. It does not prove the troop never came back: some events, like the 13th Clashiversary piñatas, rotated "familiar faces" without naming them.

Clash of Clans event spells

Santa's Surprise is the oldest event unit of all. The wiki dates it to the 2012 winter update, and Supercell's Toyshop Throwdown post brought it back for Town Hall 6 and above in December 2024. The Yellow Card suspends a building or Hero for a short time, so it cannot attack or be targeted.

Event troops in war, Ranked and donations: the 2026 rules

The Town Hall 18 notes say it in one line: "You can no longer use temporary troops and temporary Spells in Ranked Battles, Clan Wars, and Clan War Leagues." Before that, event troops could be used in war.

How to get event troops in 2026

Supercell now hands out temporary troops in four ways, often all in one season.

• Medal Event track. Each troop unlocks at a point on the event track. The Portal Panic Medal Event (8 to 25 October 2026) unlocks the Totem Thrower, Lavaloon, Witch Golem, Royal Ghost and Giant Skeleton this way.
• Battle Options. Reach a destruction percentage and the game offers a choice between resources and an event troop. The October 2026 season ran it from 1 to 5 and 17 to 21 October for Town Hall 6 and up.
• Mass troop days. For one day, a stack of event troops is added to your army for free: 50 Totem Throwers on 7 to 8 October 2026 (Town Hall 10+), 50 Elephant Riders in August 2026.
• Spotlights and Army Camps. In February 2026 each returning troop got a free week in the regular army. In the WWE season, Superstars moved into Army Camps and fought for or against you, depending on the ring colour.

Since the interface revamp of 8 October 2026, running events sit in an event tray on the village screen that opens when you load in, so a live Medal Event is hard to miss.

Clash of Clans event troops in 2026, month by month

2026 has been a heavy event year: five months brought temporary troops, and three of the troops were new. January, March, May and July had no temporary troop in Supercell's season posts. July ran mass events with regular troops instead, such as a Meteor Golem day.

What the newest event troops do

The three 2026 newcomers and the WWE regulars are the strongest temporary troops so far, and the most expensive in housing. Their descriptions in the game and in Supercell's posts:

Are event troops permanent? The one that stayed

One temporary troop has become a regular troop. The Meteor Golem arrived with the Cosmic Rock Medal Event in October 2025, and the Town Hall 18 update a month later made it "a full-time troop". The event version still sits in the files as a separate entry.

Others are gone for good from the files. The wiki lists El Primo, a Brawl Stars crossover troop from 14 December 2018. Its name is still in the game's text file, but the troop itself no longer exists, so it is not in our count of 30.

Which event brings which troops

The pattern is useful if you plan your attacks around them: October has the deepest pool, and Clash-O-Ween troops return almost every year.
