Compare King Level, Evolutions and Champions on every listing. This guide explains what a Pass Royale adds.

1. What the Pass Royale is

Supercell's Pass Royale support page says the pass unlocks at Arena 2 and grants extra rewards as you earn Crowns throughout the season. You open the track by tapping the golden Pass Royale banner at the top right of the main screen. The Pass Royale is bought through an in-app purchase and expires at the end of each season, so the page advises buying it early enough to complete it. We quote no price, because it changes.

2. Free track and premium track

What each Pass Royale track includes
TrackRewards listed by Supercell
FreeWild Shards, Hero Coins, Magic Lucky Chests, Banners, Gems, Gold Crates and a Card Boost Potion.
PremiumA choice of a Hero, an Evolution or 6 Wild Evo Shards, plus Magic Lucky Chests, Wild Cards, Emotes, Tower Skins, Gems, Gold Crates and random Common, Rare and Epic Cards.

At certain milestones you choose between rewards. If you have not reached the Arena requirement for a reward, you can still select it, but you cannot use it until you reach that Arena. Supercell's Tower Skins page adds that a Tower Skin is on the Pass Royale track every season.

3. Other premium rewards

Premium perks beyond the track
PerkWhat Supercell says
RetriesFree retries for win-based challenges, except Classic, Grand and Mega Draft Challenges. The Challenges page describes a related perk in broader words: retry or continue as many times as you want.
Golden player nameInscribes your account name in gold.
Clan GiftA gift of Gold that your Clan members can claim.

Clan members claim the gift from Clan Chat when a member buys the pass. You cannot claim gifts sent before you joined the Clan. Supercell says each member can collect up to ten gifts per season, and that this carries over if you move Clans. Supercell says the King Tower Level of players who bought the Pass Royale affects the amount of Gold you can claim, and the maximum is 850 Gold per gift.

A pass is seasonal, a collection is not

Rewards you collect stay in the collection, while the pass perks end with the season. Compare the cards a listing shows first.

4. The Lucky Loop

Make it to the end of the track and you reach the Lucky Loop, which awards a Magic Lucky Chest for each extra Crown milestone. The number of extra milestones equals the number of days in the season.

You do not need to rush. If you finish the pass 15 days into the season, Supercell says you have 15 extra milestones available immediately. After you have caught up, you are limited to one Lucky Loop reward each day.

5. Streaks, missed seasons and the Mini Pass

Season rules and the Mini Pass
TopicWhat Supercell says
Streak rewardsBuying the pass at least two months in a row earns bonus rewards depending on the streak: a skip to a higher tier and some Gems. Missing a month resets the streak. Supercell adds that streak rewards are being tested, so you may not see them.
Unclaimed rewardsIf a new season starts and you have unclaimed rewards, a Claim button appears at the bottom of the Pass Royale view.
Mini PassA smaller reward track at a cheaper price. The free Mini Pass has Gold Crates and Magic Lucky Chests, and the upgraded one adds Gems and Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary Wild Cards.
What the Mini Pass lacksThe Lucky Loop, skipping tiers with Gems, claiming rewards from the previous season, free challenge retries, the golden player name and the Clan Gift.

7. Five questions before you buy

  1. Is a Pass Royale active, and when does the season end?
  2. Which King Tower Level and card levels does the listing show?
  3. Which Evolutions and Heroes are unlocked, and how many are only shards?
  4. Are cosmetics, such as Tower Skins and Emotes, listed separately from card strength?
  5. Is the screenshot dated and matched to the player name?

8. Four mistakes people make

Buying late

Supercell advises buying early enough to finish the track.

Expecting Mini Pass perks
