Rainbow Six Siege seasons in order: all 11 years at a glance

Ubisoft lists every season on its official seasons page. A season code reads Year, then Season: Y7S3 is the third season of Year 7. Year 1 ran through 2016, so you can turn any code into a calendar year by adding 2015 to the year number.

Year 1 to Year 4 (2016-2019): two operators per season

The first four years followed one pattern: two operators plus a new map, or from Year 3 onward often a rework of an older map. In Years 1 and 2 each pair came from one real unit, such as JTF2, the Navy SEALs or BOPE. Ubisoft's index gives these seasons to the month, so the table does too. Operation Health was the exception, a full season spent on fixes, which pushed the Hong Kong season back to August 2017.

Blood Orchid and White Noise each added three operators because the planned Poland season was dropped when Health moved the schedule. Its two GROM operators, Ela and Zofia, were folded into Seasons 3 and 4 instead. For how the early Black Ice skins look today, see our Black Ice variants list.

Year 5 to Year 8 (2020-2023): one operator and a map per season

Void Edge and Steel Wave still added two operators each. From Shadow Legacy (Y5S3) Ubisoft moved to one operator per season, and most seasons paired that operator with a map rework rather than a new map. New maps returned with Emerald Plains in 2022, which went live mid-season with the Y7S1.2 patch on 19 April 2022, then Nighthaven Labs and Lair.

Year 9 to Year 11 (2024-2026): remasters and the Siege X era

Ubisoft's Siege roadmap gives exact launch days from Year 9, so this table uses them. Five of these 11 seasons brought an operator remaster instead of a new operator: the Recruit (now Striker and Sentry), Blackbeard, Clash, Thatcher and Dokkaebi. Siege X launched with Daybreak on 10 June 2025 and opened the base game to new players for free.

Current R6 season: Y11S3 Operation Split Fire

Operation Split Fire launched on 1 September 2026. It added Noor, an Egyptian defender built to counter shield operators, with the Horus Lance, a projectile that sticks to shields or surfaces and then emits flames. It also brought the Legend Division for Ranked, a limited 3v3 Arcade mode, the first targeted map update (Villa's basement and garage, with the Living Room/Library site moved downstairs) and the R6 ShieldGuard Secure Platform on PC.

How to tell an R6 account's age from what it owns

Seasons leave traces on an account. Some prove when the account was active, others only hint at it. Here is what Ubisoft's own pages support.

1. The veteran badge

With Daybreak (Y10S2), Ubisoft gave every account a badge for the year it first launched the game, from Y1 to Y9, plus cumulative veteran rewards by year from Y1 to Y10. This is the most direct age marker on a profile.

2. Seasonal ranked charms

Under the older system, every season ended with a charm for the highest rank reached that season, so each charm stands for one season of Ranked play. An MMR reset meant no charm for the rank held before it. Ranked 3.0 (Y11S2) moved the charm to the Competitive Rewards track at 80 points and ties rank rewards to the highest rank of the season.

3. Season-limited cosmetics

The original Black Ice weapon skin was sold for R6 Credits only during Year 1 Season 1. Each season's seasonal weapon skin or camo is released at launch and sold through that season, then stays in the inventory.

4. What proves little

Operators can be unlocked at any time, and since the Marketplace opened (full release in Y9S2) eligible items can be bought from other players. A single skin is a hint. The badge and a long row of ranked charms say much more.

Our guide to getting Black Ice explains how Black Ice skins are obtained today, so check which version an account has before you read it as a Year 1 marker.

Sources and editorial scope

Reviewed 18 October 2026. Season names, operators, maps and release months come from Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege seasons page and each season's own page (for example Black Ice, Daybreak and Split Fire). Exact days from Y9S1 onward and the Season 4 plan come from the official roadmap (last updated 13 October 2026). Emerald Plains' date is from the Y7S1.2 patch notes, ranked charm rules from Ubisoft's Matchmaking Rating and Ranked 3.0 articles, and the 1 December 2015 launch from Ubisoft's release date press release. Ubisoft gives seasons before Year 9 only to the month, so this guide does too. The account-age reading is ALVIRAN editorial advice.
