GTA 6 release date: 19 November 2026
Rockstar's post of 6 November 2025 says the game "will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026". Rockstar's posts since then repeat that date, most recently the Launch Trailer post of 15 October 2026. Take-Two's fiscal first-quarter 2027 results list GTA VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 19 November 2026, and CEO Strauss Zelnick refers to "the November 19th launch".
| Date | What Rockstar announced |
|---|---|
| 5 Dec 2023 | Trailer 1: Leonida and Vice City, "Coming 2025" to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S |
| 2 May 2025 | First delay to 26 May 2026 |
| 6 May 2025 | Trailer 2: Jason and Lucia's story, wishlists open |
| 6 Nov 2025 | Second delay to 19 November 2026 |
| 18 Jun 2026 | Cover art and the pre-order date |
| 24 Jun 2026 | Pre-order details: Ultimate Edition, Vintage Vice City Pack, pre-load on 12 November |
| 6 Aug 2026 | An Extended Look announced for Netflix and YouTube |
| 27 Aug 2026 | An Extended Look premieres, captured entirely from in-game footage on PS5 |
| 17 Sep 2026 | Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album announced for 19 November |
| 15 Oct 2026 | Launch Trailer with the Justice single "Flower in a Hurricane" |
Every GTA 6 delay, with the date it was announced
| Announced | Release target | Change |
|---|---|---|
| 5 Dec 2023 | 2025 | First window, given with Trailer 1 |
| 2 May 2025 | 26 May 2026 | First delay |
| 6 Nov 2025 | 19 Nov 2026 | Second delay, about six months later than May 2026 |
Both delay posts are short letters signed "Rockstar Games". The first says the team needs "this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve". The second apologises for "adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait".
Since 6 November 2025 there has been no further change. The pre-order posts, the Extended Look, the album and the Launch Trailer all name 19 November, and pre-loading on 12 November is already scheduled.
GTA 6 platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and no PC date
Every Rockstar announcement since Trailer 1 names two platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version in any of them.
PC: Rockstar has not announced a PC version or a PC date. Take-Two's lineup table from August 2026 lists GTA VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, while the same table lists PC for other games such as Judas. Nothing official says when or whether GTA VI will come to PC.
The physical version contains a download code inside the box, not the game on disc. Rockstar says boxed copies will be available from 12 November to support pre-loading.
GTA 6 price, editions and pre-orders
Pre-orders opened globally at midnight local time on 25 June 2026, on digital storefronts and at select retailers. Rockstar's posts describe two things you can buy now: the standard game and the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition, which adds "premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story".
| Item | What Rockstar says |
|---|---|
| Vintage Vice City Pack | For all pre-orders and purchases before 20 November 2026 |
| GTA+ month | A free month of GTA+ is included with digital pre-orders |
| Pre-load | Digital pre-orders can pre-load from 12 November |
| Physical copies | Contain a download code, on sale from 12 November |
| Price | Not stated in any Rockstar Newswire post; shown on each store at pre-order |
On the price: we found no price in Rockstar's or Take-Two's announcements. The stores show it when you pre-order, and it differs by region and edition. Any single "GTA 6 price" you read online is a store price for one region, not a figure Rockstar announced.

What GTA 6 means for GTA Online and GTA+ right now
Rockstar's pre-order post calls Grand Theft Auto VI "a single player experience". It has not announced an online mode for GTA VI, and it has announced no end date for GTA Online. GTA Online keeps getting content: The Kortz Center Heist arrived on 14 July 2026, hosted from a new Art Studio in your Mansion, and Take-Two lists that update for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
GTA+ is the paid membership for GTA Online on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (GTAV Enhanced). Rockstar lists GTA$500,000 per billing cycle, Member-only Shark Cards with 15 % bonus GTA$, a 100-car garage at The Vinewood Club and a games library. The October 2026 benefits add a free Pegassi Oppressor and 6X GTA$ and RP on Halloween Survivals. Our GTA+ guide explains billing and cancelling.
The free GTA+ month that comes with digital GTA VI pre-orders is a GTA Online membership; Rockstar calls GTA+ "the premium Membership for GTA Online players". On PC it works with GTAV Enhanced, and our Legacy vs Enhanced guide explains the two PC versions. The level guide shows what a rank like 200 means on an account.
